I am not sure.. Looking at things there is no mention of the HDD going back on line. Is it recording again?
Next time your at the NVR go to the menu then storage HDD Manage and double check that the drive is setup to Read-Write and double check the Status next to the type that it says Normal and not error.
Then at the Top click on Event, Then Abnormality, then HDD should be listed, Click drop down click on Disk Error and Enable click Apply Then Click on the down arrow again click on Disk No Space, Click enable and add Less then % you want I have mine set to 20% then press Apply. Now you can have it Show a message on error or buzzer seeing not connected to network other 2 option don't matter much...
Problem is I don't see anything after the Change over on the HDD.. IT looks like that was a Command by LInux to move over to different area or become read only do to Disk Error.. Seeing this is a Strip Model Linux or unix system it is hard to tell if that was for Reserve space or for read only..
Didn't see anything in the Logs that said the HDD has been formatted after the Second, Has the Recorder added any other footage since?
What type of HDD is in the Machine? One that Amcrest Installed before ship or one that you installed? IS it a Normal HDD or a Surveillance drive? Like a WD Purple or another that says 7200 or better RPM for NAS, or Surveillance. Most others I wouldn't use in a NVR do to the fact that they run 24/7. One of my Recorders hdd was a Surveillance drive died last year with 40000 hours on it.. That is around 4.5 years of 24/7 record times... Normal HDD like a WD blue or green I would guess would have died around 10000 hours if that. THey are not designed for constant full on spin time...
Maybe look at the Drive Smart info... Back out to the main munu, then Click on System Info, then under your hdd on the right it should have the Status of Normal and next to that should be S.M.A.R.T click on the HDD icon. It should say Port and model of your HDD with SN and what the status is.. THen look over the stats it will have Smart ID what that id is and tell on far right status of that id of OK or ERR
I watch myself. Read Error Rate, Start and Stop count, Reallocated Sector Count <-important, Spin up Retry, Power on/Off (Making sure it is same of Start/Stop), then 194,195,197, 198 and 199 I got lazy don't want to type them all out lol... Anyway all under Temperature..
So on mine I have Start/Stop count at 20 and my Power On/Off is also 20 however if these 2 numbers were not the same I would worry... Sadly this Smart system is not as smart as my other because it don't show info of how many hours it has been spinning where my other system does. If this got to bad but able to still read and write I could get that info off from a PC..
And looking at the logs lol only could go back to the 26th because that was where I cleared them last lol... Just did again today...
NVR Offline
Re: NVR Offline
Yes it starting recording on the 4th all by itself, nobody was at the garage. This is so strange it will skip a day or two then start recording again on it own. Brand new WD purple Surveillance drive. Not sure why on second it changed drives? only has one drive. LOL
Re: NVR Offline
Yes it is a command from Unix to lazy to type out other lol anyway it isn't changing a physical drive... Can you look to see what your system is setup for on Auto Maintain? I wonder if it is set to Delete old footage on Tuesday at xyz am and that is why it started to record again? I didn't see anything in the logs but then I don't see it in mine when it happens either...
So on mine I have it setup to Auto reboot Every Sunday at 2am.. I have it setup to Delete all old Files every 3 days. Right now if you look at my Drive in search only 3 days of footage is showing up. Every month I will turn that off for 2 weeks and let the Drive Overwrite it self a few days.. While I can't say this is any better then just filling up 1/3 of the HDD in the 19% I have it set to 20 to tell me when it will get ready to overwrite so I can keep an eye on things seeing when it gets to 000 hdd space I let it overwrite a few days.. Go over things footage for backup of anything needed and then Format the HDD and then back to every 3 days delete out old footage...
Now I know in your case that might not work.. So it could be that your system is setup to turn off the Drive when full need to make sure it is not setup that way and set to overwrite oldest when full. Sadly you might need a larger HDD if you are filling it up to fast.. Or another thing you could do if you don't need the TOtAL HD is lower the Res down to something that will give you mote time and maybe even the FPS...
Also if you have your system setup to record 24/7 you don't need Motion recording turned on however if you want to have open times recording full time and off hours on motion then you could set that up and I always setup 1 hour before open and 1 hour after.. Then on days that you would have a Cleaning crew in your place if your setup as such that day would be set to record full time as well... Also to save space seeing your not connecting from out side your NVR location I would turn off Sub Stream recording that will give you more record times... Also make sure that you don't have FULL TIME JPG capture turned on that will also take up your space

Re: NVR Offline
Well I made a lot of changes, things enabled that I don't use. See the nvr to record everyday at 3 for 1 minute, maybe this will keep the thing awake. Keep your fingers crossed Revo2Maxx so I won't ask anymore questions. I have learned a lot from you, All I can say is Thank You my friend. You spend a lot of time on the forum helping people, Think it time for Amcrest to put you on the payroll. LOL
Re: NVR Offline
LOL Na you know what a JOB is? I have had enough Jobs in my LIfe for many life times lol. Job = Joyless Occupational Bondage... LOL .. It would be cool I would work for them no issue.. I am not moving to TX though know loads of people that work at home lol... Anyway I enjoy trying to be helpful and you can ask all the Questions you need... Still interested in knowing what your Weekly reboot or Delete old files or HDD info is set at? Because as I seen the Logs I didn't see any footage that you could find and was why I asked if there was any other playable and you said not until that day... So that tells me that 1 your system is setup and forgot to setup a day or 2 but then your system told the HDD to either go into Read only mode or a different area do to HDD issue... Anyway Anytime you need help please be sure to ask.. If I don't answer there are others that I am sure will be willing to help...

Re: NVR Offline
Went to garage today to get them setting Revo2Maxx, darn thing did not record on weekend. Two days off line then came back on it own. I need something to work everyday of the week. LOL The harddrive was set to overwrite and pack Duration was on 60. Not sure what the pack duration does? Auto Maintenance was on never, I did have this for a reboot once week but that did not help the problem Im having. So I did a factory reset, lets see if this helps. Do you think its the nvr causing this ?
Re: NVR Offline
I have never heard of Such an Issue to be honest it is a Mystery to me what the issue could be.... I did have a time lapse VCR some many years ago thought someone was turning it off on me. So I took out another VCR that I had as a Backup. It had the ability to Rewind and Keep recording after tape ended. Problem was I could see people coming an going but didn't have a camera on the Locked Stock room and that was where I kept the CCTV hardware as well on High up overhead shelf out of reach. For me come to find out it was the VCR that was failing because I had a camera on outside of Stock room time it went off no one entered the room and there was no outside power switch to turn off power...
Wondering something... However I don't know what or how it would just stop for days and then come back online without human intervention in my next question.. Do you use a Battery backup? or do you get power from the Wall?
Anyone have access to Power Panel?
So without having a Bunch of Cameras laying around like I do there is a no easy way to find out what is going on... So here is what I would do.... Take a Device that has no memory that requires you to setup like a Non battery backup old LED clock. You know the kind you have to plug in it flashes until you set it... Then Plug in and set up to the Current time.. Make sure it is on the same POWER line as the NVR! Infact I am sure everyone does but I would plug in a power Strip and plug in the NVR power and the Clock power to the same strip.. Then if you come in and the NVR didn't record again you would see that the Clock is Flashing you would know it was a Power issue... However there are some other things in the line of power as well... Most times it would not be always on or working when you return so I am not sure it is a PSU issue but to be honest it could be a Failing PSU as well. Power Supply Unit... At times the 12v Power supply can have bad Caps in them and can heat up and shut down.. Then it could do a few things it could power cycle because the caps are not there to provide the power for the NVR to get up to speed so it is on and off but again this issue would be happening when your thre as well... Infact when you are Searching for footage or something that taxes the NVR on power more then normal it would cause an issue.. But I have seen things like this... Could be also a heat thing... Is the NVR in a Office that is Heated even when away? It might be that the NVR is to close to the heat Register and system shuts down when the heat ramps up because it is colder outside... It is hard to say... Oh people might be thinking PSU no But yes it could be an issue I have seen things like this where it will not come on, then by chance it was able to push pass the Power threshold and keep a enough level of power to stay running for some time then it will get crazy for little and back up...

Re: NVR Offline
I will try the clock in same outlet, good idea. Its in a non heated garage so temp is around 30 degrees. This NVR is only about 6 months old, so need to find problem before warranty is out. This thing can go offline anyday or any number of days. Never same thing happens twice, nothing in the logs this time except D2 offline. Could a camera cause this? Not sure how the schedule process in storage works either, Period 1 I have 00:00 - 24:00 Motion. So this would record all motion in that day. Is this correct? Period 2 I have 13:00 - 13:01 as regular, should this record every
day for 1 Minute?. It is not doing the period 2 at all, so maybe I'm doing this wrong?

Re: NVR Offline
Sorry I guess I thought there was more then 1 Camera and the whole system went offline if there is only 1 camera then yes the Camera could cause this as well...
How many Cameras do you have?
How is the Camera powered?
Wire or wireless setup?
Type of camera? and Age?
Didn't even think of it being a 1 camera setup on a NVR with multi CH then it could be a camera issue rather then a NVR issue...
Next thing I was about to ask before leading me to these questions was if you had a MSD card in your camera you could look over the footage on the days it is offline and see if someone is doing this. HOwever if the camera is going offline that won't matter much... Allmy IP cameras have MSD and 1 has a SD cause it is old LOL but costly so not going to toss it anytime soon... This way if what ever it is recording to used the MSD as a Backup. Network error or hdd fails.

Re: NVR Offline
When you setup days you have to tell the Recorder what days you want what.. There is alink button that will tye all days together if you wwant the same times recorded and setup...
Just make sure that your HDD is setup for all time recording and that your Cameras are setup for that as well in the Event Motion area... If you say did only 1 days as motion but didn't do the rest of hte days or click the link on the left side of the setup only that day will record what you tell it too...
