I can't find anything like Virtual Host on any of those screens, so I guess I am out of luck. I don't have any switches or POE injector either. What would that be used for in terms of this issue?

Also, I just noticed that the main stream on one of the Amcrest cams is down and I can only view the substream. I'll start adding them one by one.

So you were talking about not being able to access the cameras to access the area where you could format direct from the camera? Sorry did I miss understand you a couple of Post ago? About assigning DHCP to the cameras..

In theory there should be 0 need for DHCP to be setup on a camera that is setup in a POE NVR. The NVR normally would take control of the camera. Even cameras that I have had on one of my NVR at 10.10.10.73 Static, I connected to another NVR with the switch setup for 10.1.1.xxx and the camera was given a new 10.1.1.129 IP and that camera is still setup for Static IP.. Normally only down side from having your camera setup on Static IP is that when you put it on a normal lan for making camera changes the camera don't switch over to your local network IP range. That is why I have in my main computer like 8 differnt IP ranges so when I connect a camera that is in that range I can make a connection without much of an issue.

It might be related to h.265 or Encoding type that you using for your NVR and the camera are not 100% happy cross platform. I mean I have some older Hikvision 4mp that I run h.265 without issue but have some issues with some of my Amcrest cameras running at that format. Not all of them just a few of them so I normally will change to most h.264h if it has it or something that is better then just normal h.264..

Oh, OK, yes I had mentioned that one of the threads I saw suggested setting up cameras for DHCP. Since you think that might not be an issue, I'll just ignore that for now.

I connected the first 2 Amcrest cams by themselves to two POE ports that have had no issues and they were OK for about 30 min. I then connected the other 2 Amcrest to 2 other OK POE ports and only 1 cam came up. The other shows it is connected in the camera menu and has the connected signal on the vid screen, but it is just a black screen. It's showing the motion detect icon, and it should be detecting motion currently, so something is working. This is the same behavior I had with the 2 non-working QC cameras that I replaced (before those eventually stopped showing up in menu). I have no idea what is going on with this now.

I would double check Encoding.. Here is a Picture of one of mine that I have to have set below the h.265 that it wants to run in normally if it was not connected to the NVR it would be set for h.265.. I would look and see if there is an issue in there.. Also keep in mind that some NVR's under a type of Grid it won't or don't want to anyway display. Sometimes it will say that it is over Decode ability and or other messages and sometimes it don't display anything.

It is hard to say what is going on. Might be the age of the NVR is past its Prime for life. I would open it and double check that it is clear inside. Depending on where you have it installed it might be a good idea to even remove the PSU and blow it out as well.

Have a NVR from a company that isn't supporting it anymore is kind of hard to find out if there is an issue that might be known and was/could have been fixed with a new FW or even installing the one already running.

I know not many people like to Reset the NVR's back to Factory, I have had some issues over the years with all the devices I own and for me it has just become a Common place thing I do when I start to have issues. Normally it fixes the issue. Sometimes after the fact I find out what I did that caused the issue and sometimes I don't. My NV4216E-AI I have owned since 2021 and I might have Reset back to factory 20 times already. Most of that is because I have setup for an option that is just easier to do a factory reset then try to undo a type of setup and change to a new one.

Hello again,
I did learn some things while testing, but the issue remains.
When the image on the live tour/vid wall is blank but the connection icon (small NIC port) is visible, it means the camera is working but the stream is not on. It turns out, for some reason, the substream on some channels would turn off, causing no image on live view, but the main stream was recording and was visible during playback. I eventually figured this out, and check the box for a substream, but have no idea how it became unchecked. This issue was something I had also noticed on one original QC camera, but only after I installed the Amcrests.

I did go ahead and perform a factory default reset. It wasn't bad at all, as I don't have any special recording rules, just straight 24hr recording. After 24+ hrs, the issue remains, all 4 Amcrest cams (and none of the original QC cams) have multiple short dropouts, though 1 has much fewer than the other three.

I guess my NVR could be slowing down, I just think it's odd only the Amcrest cams are having issues. I'll open it up and see if it needs cleaning.

Thanks again for your help.

Ok so digging little deeper into the QC NVR. I am not sure if it is as it is read or if it just means it will work in both. However looking at different pages that used to offer the NVR in your thread here they all say the NVR was h.265.. So I know there was some systems out there that it was like my Amcrest NVR's where it will work in h.265 and all before and or some that it was only h.265 and so one of the issues is older cameras would not work with that NVR type and did it to keep people in a lineup they were offering current support blah blah blah you get the point..

So here is something to try. I would use if you have a POE Switch, or Power Injector or ext power supply to power the camera and connect to your normal network, Log into the Cameras WebUI, (going to the cameras IP address) and once you get in there click on setup top right, then you will already be on Camera however in the left area click on Video. In there I would double check that your numbers are within good numbers for your NVR. Meaning I would get them as close to your QC cameras settings as you can.

It might be that your camera is working in 1 stream the right and in the other it isn't looking at the picture below might give some better idea what I am trying to explain..

Also I would double check your QC cameras settings as I was saying because it might be they are setup for VBR and your Amcrest are setup for CBR.. IT could be that the issue is the Encoding the Bit rate and even Frames as I don't know the true specs of the NVR it is hard to say what it should be running in by default...

I know that you can make changes in the NVR for Encoding, However the reason I said to use WebUI for Camera is because if the NVR and Camera are not 100% on par with NVR having total control of the IP cameras then making the changes in the NVR would not give the results your looking for. Access to the Cameras WEBUI and making that change in the camera you know that change has been made in the camera...

I understand what you are suggesting, I just don't have a POE switch or injector. I do have an adapt-a-plug with a multi-voltage transformer, so I could power it and hook it directly to my router. Do you happen to know which is +DC and which is ground for the power connector?

Normally when you are connecting a DC to a camera the outside of the male end is Ground and the inner side of the jack is Positive. So in the picture below that silver part showing is Ground.

Normally cameras that are POE are 12vDC when using a Power adaptor.

Yes, I believe sleeve is usually ground, but not all manufacturers are the same. I couldn't find any documentation to back that up and the plug doesn't have the usual polarity marking and I didn't want to fry the camera. Just for clarification, did you find Amcrest info, or just going by typical specs?
