I have two IP2M-841B cameras. Every day or two they go offline and I am unable to connect by any means. After a reboot, they will run fine for a day or two. I just updated to the latest firmware, yesterday, and one of them has already gone offline. I think the "B" in the model number stands for BAD!
If there is no fix for this, as I see many people having similar problems, can I return the cameras for a refund? They are clearly defective. Or, if there is a model that doesn't exhibit this behavior, maybe I could do an exchange.
Thanks

Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
Hello kenw,
Sorry to hear about the issue. There is no such known issue with the camera. It seems to be happening when there is frequent network interruption on your network. Please ensure the cameras are assigned a static IP address through the web interfce under setup > Network > TCP IP. Select the wireless adapter if camera is working wireless.
Also try setting the camera to auto reboot every day under set up > System > auto maintain to see if that helps.

The auto-reboot sounds promising. I'll give that a try.
Thanks

Well, that did not work as planned. I set both cameras to reboot once a day around noon. Today I checked my recordings and there was no reboot. I also looked for a status page, you know something that would say when the last reboot was or how long since the last reboot, but no luck there.
In any case I checked the settings and auto reboot was off for both cameras. So I turned it back on and did a save. So far so good. Then I decided to do a manual reboot. When it came back up auto reboot was NOT enabled. Same for both cameras, multiple tries.
The more I get to know these cameras the less happy I am with them!
So, what is the secret to getting Auto Reboot to stay enabled?

Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
I saw posts where people were reporting that some settings don't stick if the image is inverted. Since these cameras are mounted upside-down, I figured it was worth a try. No luck. I flipped the image back to 0, made the changes, saved and rebooted. The image remained at 0 but the auto-reboot was again disabled. Has anyone been able to get the auto-reboot setting to stick on this model?
I'd really like to return these for a refund, unless this can be fixed. I mean, the auto reboot is a band aid to begin with. I shouldn't have to reboot my cameras every day to prevent them from going offline. I've had Foscam cameras stay online for years! But if it worked I was willing to live with a daily reboot. But now, even that doesn't work.
It seems like the only thing you got right was picture quality, which is superb.
It really seems that getting a camera to retain its settings should be fairly simple. I am really unhappy with these cameras and I'm about to let the world know about it!

Hello kenw ,
Sorry to hear about this and I can understand your frustration. Could you please check firmware version on both cameras and post it here?

Is this the version information you needed? Any idea what's causing the settings to clear on reboot?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
I updated the firmware in both cameras, set "Auto Reboot" and saved, did a manual reboot and "Auto Reboot" was not enabled. I will run with this firmware for a few days to see if the "goes offline" problem goes away.
BTW, the "Auto Reboot" is not enabled after the reboot but when I click the "Auto Reboot" box, the day of the week ("Everyday" in my case) and the time are retained. So it is able to save some config items across a reboot, just not the "Auto Reboot" enabled setting. The old firmware was the same.
Thanks
