Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
Probably butting in where I don't belong, but had a similar issue when I first got my cameras, and it was the Static vs DHCP IP address thing that was the issue. Being wiser when I set up my latest ones I set it up as Static right from the get, but now I noticed that since I hooked to them over a wire to set them up (the final mounting place is a pain to get to and I wanted to be sure I was walking and talking before attempting that step) the settings for the wired stayed as Static, but the wireless did not until I was on the wireless, selected Static and then saved that as the default. Worth a try to recheck that the wireless is set for a Static IP

Thanks kthornley for the suggestion. I checked and one camera was setup as static and the other was DHCP. I fixed the one so they are both static.
But, since both cameras are doing the same thing, I don't hold out much hope that it will fix anything. But I'm always willing to try something new!

Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
Less than 24 hours after flashing with the new firmware, one of the cameras went offline. Any new ideas, Melvin, or is it time to request an RMA number and return these? I am very frustrated at this point.
This is the current firmware on both cameras:
Software Version
2.420.AC00.16.R, build : 2016-09-09
WEB Version
3.2.1.377424
ONVIF Version
2.42
Thanks

Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
Status update: The new firmware might actually be working better. It's been 4 days since they were both rebooted and neither has gone offline. If they both go for a month without going offline, I'll consider the problem solved.
Re: Two different IP2M-841B's go offline every day or two.
Well, since my last status update I've had to power cycle each camera 3 to 4 times. So the new firmware did not fix the problem, they are still going offline every 1 to 3 days. I requested an RMA through Amcrest and was told that since I purchased them from Amazon I would have to go through them. Amazon says they are past the date where I can request a refund. So I guess I'm screwed!
I think the moral of the story is don't try to get these cameras working, just return them for something better before it's too late!
In the mean time I will check for new firmware in the hopes that this problem gets fixed.
