OK give me some time to read what you posted. I was in middle of many things and my post was late so didn't see your new post give me a few to dig into them and answer them

Re: Opinion/Tips Installing IP4M-1083EW-AI
So my thought out of the gate was POE NVR POE camera that you would wire from home area or business area to camera. However your Ui setup already has protection and not sure where your unit for the camera is located for sending to your receiver but I am sure you have that covered too. My whole thing was trying to make sure that your Investment was well protected if you live in an area like I do. Normally where your cable leaves the location (Building) there should be one right out side to help protect things inside that location. Then on the other end normally before it enters the last area there is a Termination box where one is installed and in both locations they need to be connected to ground or the cable can become just a large antenna for lightning strikes. Even under ground wire that isn't protected by some type of pipe.
So with your Uni units it seems you have already done this and should be protected at that point. Now just the area for protection of your camera. About getting up the pole. Could go 1/2 or 3/4 in the pole if there is room and at that point is where a protection device could be placed, it really is optional. I just didn't want to see you install a nice spendy camera that gets taking out in the first lightning strike. Sure the camera has some built in protection problem with that. It don't protect the camera from death. It protects the camera circuits from death and will still require a repair person to repair.
So I guess my question is where is the NVR going to be in location to the cameras location? Are you POE connecting the camera or are you using your UI wifi connection to move the cameras data? This would require other hardware? Remember these surge protectors are just Insurance. Once used and Fried it is better then it frying your camera but the protector will need to be repaired if able to replaced. Depending on the Strike.

This one is not connected correctly and is an image found on the internet. You can see only the In is connected with a grounded RJ45 and if the camera is on the out side there of this picture it will damage the camera because on the out it is just a normal non grounded RJ45. Also cable matters. Having a Grounded Rj45 connecter without a STP grounding cable it would not offer any protection.

Re: Opinion/Tips Installing IP4M-1083EW-AI
Thank you. This is very helpful. At this point I haven't really looked into all the features that the 1083 camera offer in settings. But after the camera is in the air, I will start that task of trying to figure out the setting and what areas of coverage I would like to get. I really do like the Deep IVS... from what I have read in the manual.Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 3:43 pm 2 things to think about when it comes to Shaky videos. 1 it is really a mess like jack7 was saying. Looking at your pole first thing that came to mind was that it was strong enough and while I might be wrong but your pole kind of looks like Steel and is on a large well planted base.
Second and worst part about these type of cameras is that the head is outside of the base of the camera. I have some normal dome cameras that I still use today that the camera is inside the dome and there is less shake. However them cameras also offer a DIS feature and is one thing I wish the Amcrest had. At least I have not been able to find one on any of my 850's or 853's. Might be a option on the 1083 I personally don't know. However keep in mind that if there is some shaky Video with the 1083 I would double check the cameras head. If the Belts stretch or wear out it might cause the shake even without the pole shaking. I have some older open head PTZ cameras that I have 4 of. 3 of the 4 was always very tight the 4th one even with DIS turned on would drive me insane. Even after replacing the belts in the camera there was shake and found that the motors were just not good. The thing with the Amcrest cameras they are very well built and normally the head once turned on is very stable. However I do have my 850's that the heads are starting to take on more air travel then I care and they are very well mounted. My guess is that it could be belt starting to wear or the motors. Going up to the camera I can move the head slight up and slight left to right. Because these motors are stepper motors it has to be bad belt or warn motors. (My camera is mounted to an area that it will hold my weight and I am not a little guy) So keep in mind that with the type of head the 1083 PTZ camera has there can be issues that are not related to the mounting area.
Looking at the manual there are features I think are in the camera that the manual don't talk about and there are parts of the manual that alludes to the idea of what I am thinking and that is why I say there isn't any or enough data about the camera. Lets just say this. I have a camera from 2014 that has the ability to setup per Preset if I want it color or B/W (Day or Night) and if I want that Preset to be IVS Intrusion or Tripwire. I know there is Deep IVS in the 1083 but I just don't know how Deep it goes as it really don't say when looking at the manual. So that is why I said first hand knowledge would be great. To be Clear, Manual shows features in Deep IVS preset under 1 and all the features are showing under 1 so that is why I am wonder if preset 1 can have Tripwire in an area that it could be used and then in preset 2 have it setup for Intrusion. My guess is that the answer is yes, However the manual don't show that in each of the presets it only shows 1 preset with different IVS rules in that 1 preset. Then there is MetaData info and my guess this is going to give stats on how many people, cars or non cars have passed the IVS scene. However in the manual it don't show any live info about it so one has to guess what it is. Also in the Report field again one will have to guess. I mean I have some stats on my 1046EW-AI Camera that I can get a Heat Map. Manual says you need a AI NVR to use the feature that isn't the case, I do have AI NVR and I can get the data from the camera or my AI NVR. People counting don't work as it should..
I was just trying to help with some ideas. I don't have the camera, I do have a good few PTZ cameras and was offering some things that I seen on what I would do and or have done with my own system.
Last part of the OP and Lights. Personally if you were under the lights on the pole I think would be best placement for your camera. If you are in an area like my where I have many days that are Humid, foggy, rain filled and or snowy keep in mind that you might need to make some adjustments on them days at night. I would look at using your cameras in Color at night and will be the best way to keep your scene at best view power. Reason I was asking about wanting more info with the camera, is my camera from 2014 that is older AI Tech I have the ability to setup Globe night time use in B/W and setup each preset in a different format. no matter time or day going to that preset it will change to color if set for color and or black and white if needs be. With a scene like yours, You could benefit from such setting. Have Global setup for Auto and this is good because if your normal preset areas are within your lighted area then color could work however if you happen to move the camera into an area where you light don't reach or would be good to work in IR mode with zoom ability the way I normally have my Amcrest PTZ's setup with ZoomPrio turned on. Sure my 853 wasn't setup that way because it was not being zoomed to far out so there was no need to use anything besides SmartIR. On my 850's I have them setup with Priority and when I zoom it to an area it turns on the Hi Beams lol. Having a camera 20 or more in the air with large zoom area I would look into using ZoomPrio rather then SmartIR. just saying. With having enough light and camera in Color it can help push past the beam that you might get from fog nights or nights with rain or snow. And having ability to have Global setup for IR will help to see things past your lighting area.

So, my cameras are connected with POE to the NVR, From there I am sending the single from the NVR to the internet network to control the setting/look at the cameras. I mostly just use the cell phone app (Amcrest ViewPro) to look at the areas the cameras area pointed at.Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 5:48 pm So my thought out of the gate was POE NVR POE camera that you would wire from home area or business area to camera. So here is something to look at. This comes as 1 part and with Amcrest/Dahua cameras the normal back box don't line up with them so for me I just buy this one and it works. Anyway here is some things to also think about. Personally I would use a Motion Detection device and on motion have it PTZ to that area below the pole mount location just so you know what or who.
Second with this box you can run the wires for the Mic and Speaker and motion detection that you will mount on the pole. This type of setup you could use the Liquid tight conduit that is grey and can be bought with the connection fittings that you would need or may want to use for your Mic, and speaker. With the Motion Detection it could be setup as I was saying that if someone goes around the connection area (Running the pipes outside of the light pole) the cameras alarm input would then make the camera lets say go to Preset 10. Here it would be looking down at that area to make sure there is nothing going on there that shouldn't be. Once the time is up and if there is no longer any motion the camera will go back to guard mode where you set it to return after use. Reason this is good to have for mounting on pole, You can connect camera to the mount and have the back box mounting on the pull running Cat6, alarm wires, mic/speaker wires and once ready to connect just plug in and attach the cables to the camera and screws to the back box.

Oh this is great. Do you have a website for this camera mount?Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:19 pm So here is something to look at. Also, when you are talking about having a motion detection devise... would this be something connected separately (another devise bought) to the alarm wires on the 1083 camera? Or are you talking about the alarm setting in the computer app?Revo2Maxx wrote: ↑Thu Jan 12, 2023 8:19 pm So here is something to look at.
