This may sound stupid but have you configured your DVR to send email's upon motion detection? On a 720p HDVCI DVR using the web interface one first has to select Enable on the Motion Detection via the Settings -> Event -> Detect screen (on the Motion Detect tab). Then enable the "Send Email" option on that same Motion Detect tab. One can include a "snapshot" with the email by checking "snapshot" option and selecting which camera to take the snapshot with. Each camera's motion detection Send Email setting will need to be enabled if one doesn't select "All" for Camera.

If the motion detection isn't getting triggered then check the Region setting on the Motion Detect tab and adjust motion detection region's Sensitivity and Threshold setting. See the following thread for a bit more information on the Sensitivity/Threshold settings.

I did this I have an NVR 1108 using Foscam cams.

I set a schedule I set a motion detector I made sure the box is checked .

Can't seem to figure out what's going wrong it will send me emails if the camera goes off a line but won't send me emails for the motion detector even though the box is checked.

On the 720p HDVCI DVR one has to ensure that under Schedule, Motion Detection is selected otherwise the system won't know to monitor for Motion Detection during the scheduled times. For the HDCVI DVR the setting, using the web interface, for each camera is located under Settings -> Storage -> Schedule. One then selects the Setup button for each day (or one day and select All or multiple days) and select the checkbox labeled "MD". One then hits the Save button to set the schedule for that day or for multiple days.

Have you checked your email provider's email box settings? Its possible your email box is filtering out or treating as bulk/spam the emails for Motion Detection. Have you tried setting a different email address as the recipient?

Hello,

Please login to the cameras individually and enable motion detection on the camera, set the detection area and select the schedule.

On the NVR, set the time period to 00:00 to 23:59.

So you mean that I have to control the motion detection an email directly from the camera itself and not from the NVR? The NVR motion detecting won't work so it have to be done on an individual level ?

Hello,

The NVR motion detection should work but since they are IP cameras, you have to enable motion detection on the cameras as well.
