Hi all. I have four 941's on a home network. Everything has been working perfectly for several months. I use Amcrest Surveillance Pro software to view and maintain the cameras. I have one camera connected to the network via wireless. This camera has been perfect, but recently, the camera will not show video. The camera shows as connected to the network. But, when I try to view video, it sometimes gives a message "Unknown Device". Sometimes it gives a message "Searching Video", then "Failed to open Video". Sometimes it just stays on the message "Searching Video". All of this is on a wireless laptop. When I try to watch video on my wired Desktop. It gives the message "Searching Video", then about 10 seconds later it shows the video. Any of the other cameras show video in less than one second. I have checked everything I can think of with no luck. One other detail that may be the problem. The wireless camera is outside the house but out of weather except for temperature, which has been 15-35 degrees F for several days.
Any advice will be very much appreciated.

IP3M-941B Problem
Re: IP3M-941B Problem
I also have a 941, 1051, 841V3 all outdoors under porches. It also gets and has been really cold here. I personally have not had any issues with Connections.
So I would Reboot the Camera, and also Reboot the Router. First Reboot the Router so the camera don't try to come on with out it online.
Then and outside of what I said above the next and biggest issues is Wifi issues, Even with the system working great for a few years or a few months there is always factors that are sometimes out of our control. Like Wifi from neighbors that is causing the issue. *One of the reasons to Reboot Router* it might find a new Ch that is clean. However if the issue is distance and or someone around you bought a new Router maybe higher power then it was before it could have a issue. Also try to keep things like Blue Tooth devices away from the camera, I had a Blue tooth speaker about 3 or 4 feet from one of my cameras and didn't notice first use and it was not long after that I started having issues Then noticed one day when I was looking at footage and the speaker came on that it wiped out the camera view. Removed it and been fine since.
Like maybe house has porch under a bedroom that has Bluetooth device that has moved or things like that.. Loads of issues when it comes to wifi cameras..

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
Well, the problem is much worse. I powered the camera down, waited 2 minutes and powered it back up. The camera went through the rotation, etc. but the red led never turns green. I tried it twice with the same results. Maybe it is time for a new camera?

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
It might be that the Power supply has gone bad. I would take a supply form a different working and swap for the one that isn't. It might be that all you need is a new Supply. I would try that before you scrap it. Also another thing to try. If it has a Micro SD card. Remove the card it might be bad and this causes the camera to fail to work.

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
OK, the camera does not have a Micro SD card. And another known good power supply produces the same result. When I power it up, the red led comes on and the camera goes through it's "dance", but the led does not change to green. Any suggestions for a replacement? It appears that IP4M-1041 is the current model.

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
No the 1041 is the V3 of the 1051. The 941v3 is the current model. However if you use a Ext Speaker or Mic then you will want to stay with the 941 as the v3 don't offer that ..
So 841 is 2mp the v3 is new without Alarm or Audio (In or out)
941 is a 3mp and the v3 is same as above without In and outs
Then not sure why other then numbers maybe but the 1051 was the 4mp line up now the 1041 is the 4mp 1051's version of the V3 again without the In and outs
Personally I would Press and Hold the Reset button and set it up again if it will give you the option and try that... It might be that the Wifi got out of wack or something changed? Have you tried cable connection?
I would double check Router make sure it isn't in pool and just not given access? If you do that ( I do) If that isn't a thing for you then next double check with a Cable connection even if just a jumper from router or switch to the camera and see if it can get access that way. If it does double check Wifi Settings in the camera maybe it was turned off on accident as that can happen as well.
Again doing a Reset would be faster for all testing.. Remove the camera from your Cell, Then do the setup again in your Cell, Setup to 5g or 2.4g wifi and see if it takes then. Also double check footage from around the home to see if there was someone that maybe knows the camera and ran a Factory Reset on you as a way to take it out of service I had someone do that to me once. That is why I now have 2 cameras in almost same location the other one is watching the first lol. I have other cameras that also catch the area to the camera but either way I have not had it reset since.

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
Quick update. I did a reset. Camera now does the "Dance" and the LED turns green. But still shows as not online. BUT if I plug an ethernet cable to the camera and to my desktop, the camera shows video. But the IP address is the wireless one. And if I plug the ethernet cable to my network, the camera shows as offline again. Very confusing!!

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
Well the good news so far is we can see that the camera isn't dead..
So some issues that I am not sure about seeing I can't see settings and don't know how you have things setup. You make a connection to your Desktop to the camera? Did you setup a Static IP or did you setup one that would talk with the camera? Normally the Camera from stock and not connected to a Router would start out at something like 192.168.1.108 or could be 0.108 either way it would be something within that range. Being able to connect to it either means that your computer has Static IP to the range of the camera. Either way with cable plugged in and a static IP in the setting of the camera you will be able to connect to either Wired or Wireless ip. So like this...
I have a 941 setup with Wifi as a connection and setup a Static Ip to one of the many ranges that I use on my network with some no Routers to table the IP just static ranges. One of them is 10.2.23.xxx and the camera I have setup with 10.2.23.129 wired static. However I use Wireless and that ip is 10.0.0.129 When I connect a cable I can connect to both IP address even though after re starting the camera it will show up with my WIreless IP as a Wired connection on my router. I can also connect to the camera at the 10.2.23.129 as well.
So for you I wonder if there is a Router table issue? Like maybe your cameras IP you have setup is being shared or reserved on your router to another device?
So I have some devices I have been making changes to and one of them was my 4116E-HS NVR, it was at 10.0.0.220 however I wanted it on 225. I made the change and forgot a IP camera from Hikvision is on that IP and I don't use it often so I forgot the IP was in use. On Chrome I didn't have an issue connecting to my 4116e-HS NVR however when I went to use IE because Chrome is kind of a joke when it comes to these Devices, it tried to load my IP camera. So I then changed the IP cameras IP to one that wasn't used, reboot the camera, router, computer and NVR. Again within IE it kept trying to connect to the IP camera. Turned off the cameras connection in my Switch and reboot the NVR again and now I can connect to the NVR without issue and I have since gave my IP camera power from my switch..
So I wonder if maybe the issue is the IP your trying to connect with the camera while on your Router is shared? That is why it won't work on the router but will work on a local Connection?
Also can you confirm that your Wifi is on?
Bring up your Cameras WebUI by connecting it to your computer, Log in, got to Setup on the top right, then Network. Then Wifi, then make sure the Wifi is turned on. If it isn't on you can have anything you want setup in the cameras TCP/IP settings under Wireless but not turned on under network no connection and yes you would be able to connect to the Static IP even while connected over Ethernet cable... If it isn't turned on in Wifi turn it on, Do a Search, then add your router, then put in the password and save Reboot without cable on the camera and see if that worked...

Re: IP3M-941B Problem
However looking at my system in order to access wireless camera on wired over wireless ip it will need to be enabled in WIFI so I am guessing maybe IP conflict in your router?
