Yeah ok interesting.. that is 12-15 so the box is anyway... Wonder if it was Repackaged... I have 2 2015 cameras and 2016 that don't have that issue... There is another way to tell if it is 2015 or not!?
Look on your Router for your Cameras Mac # If I can get the first 3 sets of numbers I can tell you about what year it was released.. So a Mac Number first 6 digits will tell me nothing other then who the camera is by... To be honest and if you are worried about giving out that much first 2 numbers is really all I need to have an idea if OLD new Stock or NEW NEW stock...

good luck and I hope you can find what that means although I doubt it is going to help me out much.

Re: IP2M-841 returns to preset on its own
Yeah sadly that don't help you much but WOW that is a FIRST run Camera before the 4c set and the current 9c geez I don't have any first run oddly my 2015 camera is before 12 aka dec so I wonder why mine came with 4c lol... Oh well it is an Early Production Amcrest Camera... To be honest if you just bought it with your Return time I would maybe look at making an exchange if your able to... There is no reason that someone other then Amcrest that should be selling a 2015 production dated camera as new with new FW loaded... .... Also odd thing is that I don't have a new Production camera with the strange trait of preset or PT craziness my 2015 cameras are one of the most stable I own. I am going to have to look at my 2018 camera to see if it still has some issues or not because I have the 12-19 FW on it now and it seems to be stable however I have ch1 and ch3 set to make it Preset ch2 to preset 1 on motion so either it is working well or the preset on motion is keeping it in the right area lol... When I have someone pass my PIR outside it goes to Preset 3 and all that has been working flawless since the update to new FW... I even backflashed my 2015 camera to the 8-19 fw and still stable without any issues...
My Early Cameras are AMC000AP <--Early SN but not to early my second 2015 camera is AMC000F7 for start of SN and the MAC# is 4c11bf... Now I have to track down my boxes and see what date my AP was made... it is earliest but oddly Mac is coded same manufacture as the 3c but mine is 4c.. Didn't even know 3c even was out there...

Well I did purchase that one through Amazon and not directly from Amcrest apparently.
I will assume that some seller bought a warehouse full and put them on sale to deplete their old inventory.
Just looked it up and yeah it came from Sold by: Amazon.com Services LLC
I think I'll just find a good way to take advantage of this new feature and not worry about returning it.
Best of times to ya.

Re: IP2M-841 returns to preset on its own
Yeah I am so lost lol.... I just messed around with my 2018 camera same that has the 12-19 FW loaded come to find out the Preset 3 was not set I had it setup on going to preset 4 on PIR for front porch on Alarm input and going to preset 3 and that is the crazy part there was no 3 set anymore I made a Preset 3 and camera started acting strange... I rebooted the camera, Then when it loaded it was wrong spot... Now that I haven't touched this for a month and mainly because it was loading in the right spot no need plus I was away from home for little over a week everything was working as it should... After all this now the darn thing is loading on Preset 4 lol However if I leave Preset 3 it will load in some strange area that should be preset 1 however that isn't where I had preset 1 saved lol... So i reboot a second time and again it loads on preset 1 but not where it had it set.. This even after I reset preset 1 back to where I wanted it...Odd thing is that it was moving preset 4 from long ago into 1 and so I deleted preset 3, re did preset 4 and now preset 4 is where it loads but because of the PTZ on motion it moves as soon as a car passes.... So yeah while I thought 12-19 was more stable it is not.. Now I am thinking of backflashing this camera and see if it still has same issue on 8-19 fw... Seeing I like to get ticked off by messing with all these settings and changes lol....
Be Safe.

Re: IP2M-841 returns to preset on its own
Just a quick update:
I went ahead and grabbed the Demo of Blue Iris Version 5 and now the camera works perfectly.
I didn't even do a factory reset either. Of coarse I lost the self homing but it stays where I tell it to.
