@OzzieVideo Hello and Welcome to the Forum

So from what I see you would connect the cable ground to the ground of the BNC and the Mic in or Audio in to the inner part of the BNC.. Then when you make the connection you would want to make the change in your NVR to record both Audio and Video for the channel your working with As long it is the camera in this or any other camera that has a MIC input then yes it should then go down the Digital path of the Ethernet cable to your nvr...

I would also like to mention that I while I am not 100% sure but I would make sure that your cables are Complete Cat 5e or 6a cables with all 8 wires connected end to end or same as Straight through cable.. Problem is I just helped a friend make a camera connection to his MIC and after about 2 hours over the phone and some video chat so I could see what he was working with I went over there and found that his issue wasn't camera or nvr or mic related that his cable that he had was 150' of cable that he bought that was said was POE able and only had 6 pins and was a 3 pair cable.. While it did work for this POE camera it didn't work with the Audio.. I made a Temp patch cable from one of my 1000' Cat5e cables and ran to his camera and the audio was working without an issue.. I didn't look much into his cable other then I notice that not all wires were present and only thing done different was the cable I made.. Offered him to keep my cable but he said he would buy some new on his own and run the new cable on his next day off...

SO I don't want to say yeah it will work and have you using same type of cable that he was and maybe have it not work as I don't know for sure that was the issue other then after making new cable it worked with all 4 pairs terminated at both ends...
Be Safe.

If you have any experience with wire splicing here is what i did. Get a standard rca cable. Cut one end off and strip the sheath to expose the copper ground wire running outside the inner mic wire. So you should have two strands seperated, the ground and the mic wire. Splice/twist the copper ground to the black ground on camera and the mic wire to the white audio in. Now wrap electrical tape around it. You now have a male rca connector from the camera. Put any security camera mic with an rca connector and 12v dc connector. Plug the rca to rca and plug the mic power into a 12v plug in adapter. Good to go. With the rca connector spliced on can use just about any mic. I used the amcrest mic they sell.
