Yeah that is cool and I am glad to hear the Camera is good in Cold Temps. While I was sure they could work I always want to point out they might have strange behaviors at cold temps lol.... While I don't recommend people not listen to what manufactures say Operating Temps and Humidity. Seeing I live in an area that I wouldn't be able to use many Cameras and when some fail to work as I expect I just take the idea might be caused by my weather lol. 100% Humidity is common around here most say not over 85 or 90% and mine is always Condensing as they like to say.... I have some cool footage of IR night of what one would think is Rain but no water on road and well rain drops don't float up and down sideways. While makes it hard to see things at times lol I do like the scene lol. Also have other cameras running Color that can see past the Humidity when the others are reflecting it.
Yes I found I to have a bad cable I just post about in another thread... Found that out over my Switch Cable will work ok at 100m just not Giga to Giga. So until I can replace this weekend I have it setup in my switch to run at 100m for the moment to keep me away from the errors....

Re: How do I force wired connection instead of wifi
OK, for posterity, the problem was the cable I made for this camera. Naturally it was one of the wires that's actually used for ethernet that didn't have continuity. I replaced the bad end and now that camera (which is the PTZ model) works wired.
The only part of this I still don't understand is why the initial configuration of a wifi camera will work wired. It is my experience that the wifi configuration often fails, so I plug the camera directly into my router and the config always works then. Why it's able to ignore the wifi interface during the configuration is not clear, it seems like it turns off wifi when it has a wired connection. But once the camera is configured, I have to go into the setup and turn off wifi to get the wired interface to work.

Re: How do I force wired connection instead of wifi
Over the last many many years I did many miles of cable installs over the years I found that cables and connectors can from time to time be bad. Funny thing is there are people that think they can do a Superior job of hooking up cat wiring and be perfect. I used to be one of them lol. However I will admit There was about a 1 to 5% fail either issues caused by manufacturing flaws as I have had a good 50 or more over my life of working with Networking hardware that was missing pins. Another issue not mine however others is they use the wrong parts for the wires or keystones or RJ45 ends. 95% of my cable was solid core even to make my Patch cables where most I have known will use Stranded wires. Then in MANY MANY problems I have found is others that use Stranded wiring when it should have been solid. Like when they are terminating to Keystone connectors. So while I did say that I used most times Solid for my Patch cables this is only in Telco Closets or areas that don't have much traffic. If you are going to be moving wires alot and need more flexibility then I would use the Stranded. I started wireing back in the early 1990's with the At&t 568A. However seeing I worked with both POTS lines and Networking lines I soon shifted most of if not all my standard to the T568B no matter what I was working on as long as I left a Road map for the next gen that might come in after me.
Glad you got your Cabling sorted out. Hope you find many years of good use out of your system. My of my wiring is over BNC because I prefer it. Longer runs if again right wring and terminals are used. I have some Pre Fab wring that I bought as backup that works perfect to provide picture to my DVR's but the Over cable communication for Menu or even Zoom for one of my cameras won't work on that cable. I have another one that was pre made. I have used it long time on a 1080P dome camera that didn't have zoom but some other features. When I connected my Zoom camera that did require little more power to the camera that cable no longer worked well enough to even change back to Color from B/W. Even a 5amp PSU wouldn't power of the Pre Fab cable at 60 feet lol. I connected a 200 foot cable to it and ran the power cable that was working on the line before and sure it is 18 awg power wire and ends I terminated on RG6 cable and it works fine. Just at times Pre Fab wires are not good enough for quality setup.
