Brand new camera
I have turned on the schedule walked into the room where the camera is set and as soon as motion is detected it turns 45 degrees to the right.
Camera rotates when motion activates
Re: Camera rotates when motion activates
i just did a camera reset 3 days ago as I am working with amcrest for a recording issue that seems to have been resolved.
I have the gui setup on my macbook pro as well. I will check the settings there, but that is just the login for the camera, so it should be identical

Re: Camera rotates when motion activates
Are you working with only 1 camera or might not matter I know that I have the ability to make my Camera do things off of my other cameras on my network of cameras. Like I can setup my camera 1 to record when Camera # detect motion. I can make it move the camera on a motion of another as well So Strange that your having this issue after a Reset. Was this a Factory Reset or just a system reset? Did you do it off the Button on the back of the Camera or off the webpage?
New? Can you provide the FW and other info for Camera? All but the Serial Number you can take Screen shot and cover the SN part. Did you buy from Amcrest? Amcrest Direct? or was it from another person on claim it was new?

Re: Camera rotates when motion activates
So then my next thing I was thinking about. Can you move the Camera to the PART that it rotates to and use it as home or did you try this with it still moving after Detection of Motion? camera only moves so far unlike my real PTZ dome that has ability to move 360 and keep going forever. These only move to point A then to point B without ability to go past it needs to return...
So when you have it setup. Camera moves to spot. Change position of camera to that location and leave it at that point and see if it keeps trying to move position when motion is detected....

Re: Camera rotates when motion activates
OK so I have a mess so please don't pay no mind to my desk lol .... So I took some cameras made an area, Yea I know light not on wiring box but needed some light for the test didn't want to wire in new spt so this was for testing.... Wanted to show what I mean about a channel making another chan do something. I took my 4 Ch cvi unit out of service to make this short video lol... I have 2 CVI cameras facing the wall and 2 PTZ cameras facing my normal monitor I used to view my camera system... Anyway shows what happens when motion on CH 2 is detected takes PTZ and moves to spot on my Preset list of that PTZ. Sorry for Fan noise that is my Gigabit Switch and POE Switch fans. 5 in total they need to be replaced with some silent ones lol...

Re: Camera rotates when motion activates
While I am not saying that it isn't a motion issue. Maybe look at your Reboot every week area. Might be set to daily or something odd and maybe when the camera resets it isn't going back to front or normal location it was in before reset and thus it being on the backside of the camera? Turn off the Auto Reboot for a week and see if things change.
Just some ideas Sorry I can't see what it is doing to know what to offer as advice.
