Drawing an AI Tripwire Rule

Post by carlfulp »

I’m having trouble setting an AI Tripwire rule and perhaps you folks can lend a hand. After drawing a yellow box/rectangle in the camera view area I click Apply and then am prompted again to draw the graphics. It is my understanding that after drawing the graphic that you right click to signal your drawing is complete. I’ve used both Safari and Chrome under the MacOS to invoke the camera’s web interface. I’ve also tried Safari, Chrome, Firefox and Edge under the iPad OS. The web interface doesn’t recognize that I’ve completed the drawing using any of these OS and browser combinations. Please see the attached screenshot that illustrates the problem.

Is there something I need to do further to indicate that I’ve complete the drawing of the graphics or must I use Windows along with Internet Explorer or Edge to set the rule?

Thanks.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

It looks like you are using a PTZ Camear of newer type format WebUI and should be able to run with Chrome Normal. My guess is that it might be better off using Edge in IE mode. There is a little icon on the top right with a e to open it in IE mode. The picture you uploaded here shows it is looking for a Plugin that you need to DL and install.. So I would just do it in IE mode. I do 99 % of all my cameras setup in Edge IE mode seeing Ie is no longer supported. MS says they will support the IE mode in Edge until 2029..

Now about your Drawing? IT almost looks like a Box as if you were using INtrusion. IT might be that it isn't either that it is a Size for your setup. IF you look at older types they have it on the left to pick sizes and sure I have a Tripwire setup as an Intrusion looking box but your picture looks more like a size box for max sized items to detect..
Now if you are trying to setup your Tripwire at that IT might now work well. You kind of want a leading area then the tripwire and an exit area. With such a large area of your cameras area of view it might trigger latter then you want it to.

Also this is a real picture of the Tripwires in the first picture is for size as I was saying.. This is just to show the 3 Tripwires installed.

Revo2Maxx,

Thanks for the welcome and your feedback. I downloaded and installed Microsoft Edge for Mac on my Mac Studio only to learn that IE Mode is NOT supported on Mac. For full details see https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answe ... r-mac-drop.

So I guess my next step is to install VMware Fusion and Windows 11 as a guest to get access to a version of Microsoft Edge that truly supports IE mode. I'll get that done and then retry setting a Tripwire of Intrusion rule. I appreciate you providing screenshots of your rules. That should really help.

Again, thank you!

So for this camera, I have 3 rules that are all just single Tripwires. The reason I have 2 in the driveway is the first one is for Vehicles, I give first 10feet into the drive without any notice. I have Motion turned off so I don't get any false alerts for the channel. The Second one is for Human alerts and setup to Email.. Normally I have the one in the road for Humans seeing I have other Vehicle rules as you can see in the picture below, This is from an Analog camera (Pictures Below) on one of my AI DVRs. Now to understand why and what I mean about the issue of the rule being to much of the scene. In my TVI 2mp 10x zoom camera I have it setup on this position to really get Plate numbers. Seeing I live in an area that don't have front plate anymore the road at the top of the picture when a car comes down that road it don't always trip at night. When I had the zoom out some at the picture 2 in this reply I had more then 90% of the traffic at night, Now with the zone where it is now and the tripwire even though it looks like an Intrusion it is a Tripwire. That position I get maybe 82% of the traffic coming down that road. When I had the zoom out to the wider view again the trip wire is where I have it in the current location the zoomed in area so there was more space for the vehicle or people to start into the zone before hitting the tripwire.. All the rest were also the same or about the same area in the road..

current location of cameras view and able to get plates in Blue Iris

Old location and at times still run at night seeing this bullet camera has preset settings like a PTZ camera would. I have it off right now but setup in Blue Iris to go to a preset at night and one in the day seeing this camera and default settings don't see well even at night with Plate lights. Sure I could make camera setting changes but these would need to be done day and night in cameras OSD so it isn't as easy as one can do from IP camera.. So last few years I just leave default settings and don't worry about plates at night.. This is a Tripwire..

Coming back here to let viewers of this post know that Amcrest has provided a new level of firmware for my camera and it thankfully resolves the issue. Take care.
