Greetings,
I have a NVR4116E-HS. I have 8 cameras. Most of them are outdoor IP4M-1055E models. I have one IP8M-2496E. I recently moved the NVR physically to my network cabinet. At this time I decided to start using the built-in PoE switch in the NVR. I experienced ALL THE PROBLEMS since that point! Previously, I had all the cameras hooked up to my PoE switch and was feeding it all thru the 100mbs LAN port so the NVR could plug in directly to the TV for monitoring. However, I am starting to run out of ports..
Since relocating the NVR - and doing a FULL RESET on the cameras and NVR at the direction of Amcrest Support (UGH) - I am still stuck. I have 2 issues:
1. when all the cameras are attached to the PoE switch on the NVR, the NVR bogs down like it is unable to handle the load and I get copy video on 6 channels - livestream AND playback.
2. With 4 cameras on the NVR switch and 4 channels fed from my main switch over the NVR LAN port - I only get choppy video on the 4k camera. IT hangs for 2-5 seconds between frames. This renders the device USELESS. Support instructed me to go to a lower resolution - which again - renders it useless.
Interested in camera / nvr settings, etc - anything at this point besides "dropping the resolution".
Not really sure what to do here. Turning to the community before I swear off amcrest NVR and go buy a different device / solution.
Thanks!

Hello digitalson
Im getting ready to buy about same setup as your running,don't want to buy it if it has problems. I plan
on running all cameras back to nvr, going to have 6 8mp cameras install on system. Did you find out what the problem was? Thanks for sharing your problems for all the community to see.

Hey there! I would not recommend this NVR AT ALL. I have not been able to find out the problem and support is useless. They repeatedly tell me the choppy video is b/c of the viewing resolution - which directly contradicts the specs on the device's page. When viewing the cameras directly, I have no choppy issue - it is def the NVR itself. Also, if you look at the specs on the page, while it does advertise 4k viewing, this fine print may denote the actual issue:
this really feels like false advertising on the headline and initial product spec blurb. Aside all else, the problem I have MUST be a physical limitation the device..You can record up to 16CH 3MP Recording and 4CH Playback @ 30fps, 16CH 4MP Recording and 4CH Playback @ 20fps, and 16CH 5MP Recording and 2-CH Playback @ 20fps

@digitalson
Did you ever get your set up to work?
I am experiencing a similar issue with my NVR4108E-HS. Been through the wringer with Amcrest Tech "support". Got an RMA approved. Received the "new" refurbished NVR today and I have the same issue. If I add 5 or more cameras to the NVR, the connectivity to our network degrades all the way to the point to were we can't access the NVR at all through the web GUI or the Surveillance Pro app. 4 cameras works just fine though.
