Re: NVR HDMI Output Showing Substream
So I bit the bullet and got the extension ladder out and pulled down the camera in question and connected it direct to my poe, worked fine. So I tested the cat 6 cable, it tested OK, just for fun, I cut off both ends and installed new connections, still has low res. Repulled entire new cable, connected, now test fine. Inspected old cable, no issues physically (its a direct burial cable, very thick and expensive) and it passes electronic test. Not sure what is up, but it looked like that fixed it

Great to hear you tracked down the issue. Sad when it comes down after so much work that it turns out to be something costing so much the last thing someone would expect to be the problem...jonnysteele wrote: ↑Mon Dec 02, 2019 9:03 pm So I bit the bullet and got the extension ladder out and pulled down the camera in question and connected it direct to my poe, worked fine. Thanks for Posting a Update most people would sadly keep everyone guessing what the problem is and just put blame on camera(s)
Sadly Cat cable is a Pulled wire and is pulled many times taking it smaller and smaller. Most times they test it well before selling. At times not saying in your case but at times it could be that the manufacture knew of a flaw but kept it for sale because most times it would be a flaw in a non common wire and no one would notice. One of the best cables out there is Superior Essex. Top Quality over many others... Cost can be more then others...
Be Safe.
