I have set this NVR up and I have 5 cams connected to it via the NVR's POE ports. I have two 10TB drives in it and it displays the video of all cameras. I am using the web interface logging into the NVR from my laptop with MS Edge.
I have updated the firmware and I can record and playback the video of the cameras.
When I go into the Web Service playback, my only control options are Play / Pause and Stop.
I have no Fast Forward controls, no Reverse controls, etc.
Why is that?
Thanks.

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
I suggest you try Amcrest Surveillance Pro Version 2 at
https://amcrest.com/forum/amcrest-surve ... 13561.html
There's also a Version 1 at the Amcrest website.

Interesting.. Jack can I see a Screen shot of your ASP in playback in V2 because my V1 has some controls as my NVR playback? I have not used ASP on my NVR before but after you said use it I thought I would see if there was some better controls and the WebUI and ASP 1 look the same besides the layout looks little different where on myWebUI I have the slidebar for speed on ASP I have to click button to get slidebar... I still have not DL V2 last I knew it was still beta so I have waited.. Would love to see your controls on V2

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
So looking over the FW page I found that My NVR or one of them anyway has a new FW from 5-2020 and I am going to guess this might make changes in as the OP has brought up... Sadly I personally at this time will no be upgrading to the NEW JS FW for my NVR and maybe if they removed a function of the last FW it might be in a future update... One of the things I heard is WebUI max of 4 display and not looking for that anytime soon... However for what ever reason IE and my 4108 on playback is crashing my system anyway when I setup playback on more then 4 so maybe it was a good thing as it is a lot of network traffic My other 2116-HS has update but as I said at this time I will keep with old FW on it...
Edit: Also Jack7 I just wondering if you have Playback Crash after a clip has finnished as I hear another user has this issue... Said it is after a playback clip has ended and leaves a clip up within a Min or so the system crashes? You have this issue on V2 as well? I hate to promote a Program that would cause issues without mention of Issues that may come by using it...

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
This shows the playback controls. Timeline is zoomed in and the speed control is set to 4x playback speed.
(This was after I had to restart ASP because of a crash that I've described in the ASP beta thread).

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
Thanks for the Image of V2 so it kind of looks like different skin and layout but the functions are still there... Humm I guess I will have to go get another one of my Computers and setup V2 on it lol I will just put it in my office rather then in my Security closet incase I need to reset it from crashes..

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
Hi Y'all Amcrest Smart People....
I am new to this stratology (ok, I admit, it's my own word) but each vendor has their own strategy for technology...
Ah.. so I comprise...
But what is this Surveillance Pro? I have Blue Iris and elected to run my cams on the NVR POE subnet for greater security...
Is Surveillance Pro comparable to BI? or is it incorporated into the NVR?
Thanks....

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
It is a program for Amcrest Systems and is kind of like a Mild BI.. It does have the ability to setup recordings as well but for Viewing some people like ASP aka Amcrest Surveillance Pro for viewing. I personally don't like it because it makes all my Cameras out of wack on TIMEs... So it is a software you can DL from Amcrest Website...
Personally have a NVR for me no reason for BI or ASP unless there is a feature that they have to offer that is not offered on NVR then that is cool to me...

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
Well then Jack7, I'm not going to scrap my new NVR with 20TB of drives for ASP....
I have installed the FW version from 5-21-20
In the Playback section of the NVR using the Web Service login via http there are no Fast Forward, Reverse, Fast Reverse options.
There is an option to "Stretch" out the 24 hour time line into 5 minute increments and a "slider/pointer" which use is cumbersome.
There is no "X2, X3, X4" speed controls either.
The Video Playback function in this layout is practically useless.
Also, only 4 cameras can be monitored on screen at one time.

Re: NVR 5216E-8P
I have not been unavailable since my last post.
@attitude, you said the Web UI for your NVR does not work well for you. I suggested you try ASP on your laptop. Not to replace the NVR but to view and replay your NVR cameras instead of using Web UI. ASP has the functions to do that, but I can't say it will work properly with your NVR. You would have to try it. I don't have an Amcrest NVR.
In ASP, you can view up to 64 cameras in various splits.
In Playback, you can playback multiple cameras concurrently. Here's the replay controls. There are reverse and speed icons. You can also use mouse and wheel to size the timeline and select a time to replay.
