NV5232 - Motion Detection

Post by rasectech »

Hey,
I'm having problems with the new versions of Amcrest NVRs.
ONVIF Cameras that were working normally stopped recording Motion Detection. Now I only have continuous recordings "Regular"

In the attached image, you have the information of 2 NVRs of the same model.
The NVR with firmware version 3.2..... allows Motion Detection recording.
The NVR with firmware version 4.0.... is not recording the Motion Detection of ONVIF IPCameras.

Any solution for this?
Can I get the old firmware version? Is it possible to revert to the old version on the NVR?

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

Sorry to hear your having some issues..

Can i ask what type of Cameras are you using? While I don't have the 5xxx series NVR's I do have a few of the older 4xxx and the 4216E-AI NVR that is new last year.. I also use many different brands of cameras as much as I hate to say it.. There are some cameras that I own that don't record motion and only full time and I have them on the Shelf for backup use if I need to pull one of my other in service cameras or if I have one stop working I can get something there until I can get a Replacement..

I am sorry to ask such a Stupid question but did you setup your NVR for Motion? Please hear me out. So I can't remember what DVR/NVR's came with Motion and Full time by default and I can't remember what ones come with Full time only by default. However first thing I do is Change all my Recording info as soon as I setup. Mind you. Some of them have both Green and Yellow setup by default some only had Green full time.. Also Snapshots you will want to change that setting as well most of mine again I can't remember what ones however most of them came full time snapshot and I want most of my cameras only setup for Motion Snapshot.. So again that is something that would need to be changed in the Storage area..

Please note that changing for only 1 channel need to make sure that the all days and once you get it setup for 1 channel the way you want I always just press the copy at the bottom and then choose all and then save.. However at the top you can just setup for all to start with rather then a Channel NUMBER..

Outside of that you will want to make a RMA request for a Replacement for a new NVR if that isn't your issue because there is no reverting back to 3.xxx FW once you go to 4.xxx version...

Hi, thanks for replying.

I'm waiting for an official response from Amcrest, because they stated that the New NVRs do not support ONVIF IP cameras of other brands, or with feature limitations.

On the NVR, yes everything is configured and active for Motion detection.
I have management of Multiple NVRs, I noticed that the units purchased in the last 4 months came with new firmware, and these new units stopped recording motion detection.

That's why I put in the image the comparison with two equal equipment, but with different firmware versions.
The version with a date of 2019 works with motion detection, the new version with a date of 2021 doesn't work with motion detection, I'm still using the same cameras. (Microseven Camera)

I would like to get confirmation if I can get the old firmware version and if I can use it again on my new NVR, as the model is the same.

Thanks.

Yes that is how they are with all cameras and has stated that info for many years.

"Supports all Amcrest WiFi and Wired IP cameras and limited compatibility with third-party IP cameras. " <----- as stated on the Website...

Just so you know I personally bought a different company because that was the answer I got when I asked if I was going to be able to use my Cameras on 8m16 or other DVR that I owned seeing I needed a RS-485 port for my CVBS PTZ cameras. However when I was told maybe they wouldn't work I bought different Brand. I have since bought a 7108-AI DVR that did work and also had at another location that I have since had sent to me the 8m16-H5 that also works with my Cameras and really wish I would have had that to start with for my other cameras..

So that limited list I can tell you that any of my NVR's I own from Amcrest the Microseven company isn't even listed as being supported. While don't mean that it isn't what it means is like in your case it worked on older FW.. IT don't on the newer FW and isn't part that is normally controlled for updates.

Your best bet would be to get a RMA for a system with older FW as they will be released with older FW from Amcrest and the End user will have to update to the 4.0 so your not wasting loads of time RMA is best bet unless you bought used then you might have to send back to them and pay for a Reflash..

Last night I wasn't able to upload and forgot about it however I did a Reset of one of my NVR's and as set up from start was Full time Record and Full time snapshots. First 2 is right after Reset, second 2 is how I setup mine besides the ones that I want/need full time
