NV5208E Recording Sub Stream1 & Sub Stream2

If you record the Main Stream in H.265, 3840*2160(8MP), what would be the purpose of recording Sub Stream1 or Sub Stream2 at a much lower H.265, 704*480(D1)?

Is it for the sake of playback on the Web UI?

My point I guess, is, I only have 4 cameras (4x IP8M-2597E-4MM) on an eight channel NVR (NV5208E), so I am only using half of what it should be able to handle. The Record and Playback seem okay so far, but there are blackouts from time to time, not sure why. So, if I can record and playback the Main Stream without much issue, do I need the Sub Stream?

Can I free up space for the HDD to store the Main Stream?

Or, do I need it for a reason I am not thinking about and at this point, I am learning, there are many of them.

I would and have mine setup to record in Main stream for my 4108 and 2116 NVR's I do have sub 1 active incase I am out and don't have enough bandwidth I can still see the streams.. I don't know if they are recording as I have never looked away from home if I had playback and have them set to manual in the HDD area.. 2 is off

So you stream, main and sub stream 1 for alternative viewing, but only record the main stream?

Yes in my Main NVR I only Record in Main but have Sub 1 active but not recording.. I have my system setup to let me see it while out of my network and I have had issues where I couldn't view anything. Now at times in that area I was in I get a Message that it is viewing in Sub Stream do to quality of connection and the cameras are able to be viewed... Again I don't playback often away form home.. if there is an event that I need to refer to I make note of time and camera and when I get home i will make any backups needed if needed...

So under Audio/Video I have on all my Ch main and sub 1 active, yet on the record page where the are the little dots to pick Auto record Manual or off I have all my cameras besides the Dooebell camera because I don't know if it will mess it up so I have it set to off but all the rest are set to Manual record and Main is all set to Record Auto... Then on the Channels that I want snap shots I have them set to record but most are not set only 1 camera I have set for that right now trying to keep a good number of days before a Format.. I normally will make any Backups of events that I deem needed.

So I thought I would add something to this... Doing a Calculation on 4 cameras sadly I can only go to 5mp in quality anyway in H264 Recorded in Highest Quality was 80mb of bandwidth at 25fps did the info with same besides 30fps and it says it would need 96mb+ Low Quality 30fps 36Mb and at medium quality was 64mb of bandwidth...
