NV4108E

Post by andycai »

My 4108E is 4 years old. I believe it's already discontinued. Amcrest told me that I can install 4K camera so I tired it. It seems I can only get Sub Stream not Main Stream. I'm not sure if it's the NVR issue? Maybe I need to upgrade? Any idea? Thank you

@andycai Hello and welcome to the forum...

I am going to guess that you have the E aka POE Model of the one I have without the E and that would be good for upto 5mp cameras... However the thing that is hard to understand at times is what someone really has because there is 2 different models with like name and to be honest I wish there wasn't....

So there is 4108E and 4108E-HS ... This is the same for the 4108 and there is a 4108-HS The HS is an Updated model with 4k able where the normal 4104, 4108, 4116 with or with out the E will only record upto 5mp...

I just discovered that NVR has severe limitations on bandwidth. This might help:

Limits or no limits it is still without an Idea of this is a HS or a Normal 4108E? Without the HS the best it can record or playback without lowering the Camera encoding to 5mp...
