I have an NV4108-HS with four Amcrest UltraHD 5MP Bullet POE cameras attached. All cameras are powered by a Netgear POE switch.
It looks like all 4 cameras are being recorded, and when I view with my phone or computer I can see all four feeds at the same time. But when I try and view the camera feeds on my TV directly connected to the NVR with HDMI, everything is initially black. If I double click on a camera it'll show that full screen, then when I go back to 4 at a time it'll show only cameras 2-4, with camera 1 blank. If I double click on the top left box for camera 1, it'll show that camera feed full screen. But when I go back to the 4 at a time view camera 1 is blank again. I cannot figure out how to view all four cameras at the same time.
Any ideas? Before today I only had 3 cameras on ch1-3 and all three worked fine. Today I added camera 4 and now suddenly I have this problem where I can only see 3 at once. I have rebooted the NVR with no improvement.
It seems that the NVR simply cannot handle this many cameras at once, but that seems odd given that it says it can do 8 cameras at 4K each, so my 5 MP cameras should not be that stressing....
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Mike
NV4108 only showing 3 of 4 cameras
Re: NV4108 only showing 3 of 4 cameras
Hello and Welcome to the forum...
Sadly I don' t see any limit on that NVR that would make it act like that... Says is has Mulit Screen Display of 1,4,8 and 9 cameras so should be able to display 4 without issue...
I would have said here How about a Reboot but well you already did that lol...
So here is an idea... Unplug that camera you connected today. reboot system see if all 3 working ok like before... Once you are feeling good about that... Take out Cam3 and now put in Camera 4 in 3s place and see if the system acts up again...
It could be there is an issue as well with the POE switch, Maybe try using another Port on the Switch after you have tested Cam4 as Cam3 and if there is still bad play Swap ports, then if no improvement I would try swapping out Cables.. While you might think non of this has anything to do with the Quality of NVR.. It can play a part in Poor Quality very easy....
Some ideas. May have already tried them as I am not there to see what is done these are areas I would start if I had this issue..

Re: NV4108 only showing 3 of 4 cameras
Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestions, with no effect. Each camera is working properly, the network is working properly. If I remove any one camera from the NVR setup then the remaining 3 show correctly on any of the NVR channels.
But I did figure out what the problem was. The NVR is not able to display four cameras at the same time at 5 MP using H.265. Like I said, it does record them all but is unable to display them. 3 cameras is fine, but the fourth is apparently too much for the NVR to handle, so it drops the fourth camera down to the first sub-feed. Well, I had the sub feeds at 640x480 resolution, but also H.265, and it would just show a black screen. Interestingly, this is also true if I double click on a camera view to show it full screen and then change that display to S1, it seems unable to display a sub-feed at H.265. I changed the encoding on the sub-feed to H.264 and the NVR was able to display it correctly. So now I get 3 cameras displaying the main feed at 5 MP and the fourth displaying the sub-feed S1. I guess that's ok, at least I can see all 4 at the same time.
Hopefully this will help someone else out in the future. I have no idea why the NVR is not able to show the S1 feed at H.265 but at 640x480 resolution there does not seem to be much difference in quality between H.265 and H.264 at the same bitrate so I'm ok with the change.

Re: NV4108 only showing 3 of 4 cameras
I remember reading this a while back. It says how many images can be displayed. Go to Amazon page for your NVR. It says:
Records 8-Channels @ 1080p/3MP/4MP/5MP/6MP/8MP & Playback 8-Channel @ 1080p/4-Channel 3MP/4MP/3-Channel 5MP/2-Channel 6MP/2-Channel 8MP.
Records 8-Channels @ 1080p/3MP/4MP/5MP/6MP/8MP & Playback 8-Channel @ 1080p/4-Channel 3MP/4MP/3-Channel 5MP/2-Channel 6MP/2-Channel 8MP.
Re: NV4108 only showing 3 of 4 cameras
How sad lol... First thing i did was look to see if there was a Quality issue for the HS model and sadly on Amcrest page where it normally says if there is a Playback or Recording restriction it is on the page.. However the page I looked at off of Amcrest Webpage lol
https://amcrest.com/amcrest-nv4108-hs-4 ... 8-1tb.html
That was why I said I didnt see one... While there is for the Non HS however the HS is higher model kind of like in my mind. Looking again... i am not sure if there is even a NON HS lol... On one page outside of Amcrest webpages I see no HS in model info but don't find that info in there pages lol.. OH well I am human...
Well I know know and glad things was figured out...

So I revised what I wrote thinking it wasn't under same limit...
