My NVR-4108 Issues

Post by hawkeye62 »

After several months of near perfect performance, my 4108 is acting up. In Play Back mode, when I click on a time, say 3:00 AM, it shows video from, say, 4:00 AM. And the little marker on the time bar is at 4:00 AM. So, if I want to view video from 3:00 AM I have to click on the time bar at 2:00 AM. And if I click on Play Backward, it jumps to a different time. If I remember correctly, I could pause forward play and start play backward with no change in time. Say, pause forward play at 3:00 AM and start backward play at 3:00 AM. Maybe I need to do a factory reset of the 4108? any advice will be appreciated.

Dst issue, time playing time in camera time. Say for instance your camera had time hour before and you started playback in recorded video on NVR for 5 min back in the nvr time and let it play let's say at 8x before long 5 min would be up and it would be playing in an area not even showing there's recording. Hard to explain but I have seen it. Go to cameras WebUI and look at the time in it, might have to look at logs seeing most are setup to take computer time when you log in but if look in logs it will show an hour different then real time.

That my guess of the issue.

Even seen where I wanted to play back 1am and it puts cursor at midnight with what I wanted to see that happened in 1am time. Now I have all my recorders going to my own network NTP server so all times are right but things get kind of strange around DST times where times get out of wack

Well, since a routine reboot at 2:00 AM Sunday, everything is back to normal. If I click at 1:00 PM on the green bar, the recorder stars at 1:00 PM.

Trying the update the firmware, my USB drive does not recognized the USB and says wrong format, soon after crashes and the screen turns green and then black. I never got to the point of selecting anything. Pulling out the USB, the NVR-4108 recovers. The USB is USB3 and formatted to exFAT and downloaded the Amcrest firmware

Hello and Welcome to the Forum

best then to log into the NVRs WebUi by going to the IP for the NVR and install the FW over the WebUI! Don't have to worry about the USB being correctly setup for the system. DL the FW to your computer you are connecting with, Log into the NVR and go to update for the firmware, pick the location of the update file and it will update. No messing with Thumb drives..
Be Safe.
