Issues getting my NV2104E with a IP5M-T1179E camera to work correctly. The NVR locates the camera but i am always met with the red x when it is added to my setup. Anyone know why?

Re: Issues getting my NV2104E with a IP5M-T1179E working
Hello and welcome to the Forum...
So first just so you know blocking out your Cameras IP address don't matter.. 1 if your using the IP port aka POE port on the back of the unit the NVR is blocking traffic to and from them ports... Unless your using a WAN address then block IP.. But for a Lan address no one can access your Ip Lan from outside your LAN...
About the camera... It could be that you need to click the Pencil and make changes to the cameras setup if you maybe changed the Password or maybe there is a port that is different the the normal one listed...
So for testing if you want to check to see if the camera will connect you can log in the Camera UI and turn off ONVIF Auth this will make it so a good password or bad password will log in the camera... IT isn't a issue no one can access your camera if the feature is turned off it is something that has been there for years to test and make sure there isn't another issue with the camera.. With that off if your still not able to get it to connect to your NVR it might be as I said before there is a Change in the cameras settings that you would need to change by clicking the little Pencil under Modify and make them changes... Another Option is to Reset camera back to Factory Defaults and delete your current ch4 and put in new ch4 with the reset cameras info again without changing the password it will load on the nvr if you log into camera and change password as most times it prompts you to make this change you will need to reflect that changed password on your NVR setup page for the camera by clicking the Pencil for the camera....

Ok looks like things are working. Logged directly into the cam changed some info and reconnected to the NVR and it picked up the camera. Thanks!
