How to set up motion rec nv4116-hs?
How to set up motion rec nv4116-hs?
Could someone layout how to setup motion recording on this nvr. The cameras connect and in the status tab say md is green. Go to the alarm section and enabled motion recording. Still not recording motion. Oh schedule is set in the storage section. All days yellow(md). What am I forgetting?

You need to go to the Storage area and make sure you have it set for the Channels you want to record from the storage page..
So you would want to go to your Main Menu, Storage, Record and make sure the Main and Extra 1 Streams are set to Auto also you will need to make sure what you have your events to record from if all main you can just setup your Main as auto... For one of my systems I have setup for some of my recordings to only record from my Extra Stream and the others set for main.. So that one I have both in the Storage and Record to Auto for Main and Extra 1 however in my 2116-HS I have only my Main setup to record Auto and all other extra 1 and 2 are off and all Snapshots are on Enable...
That might be where you missed to get them to record...

Tried all that and still no motion rec. I spent an hour with axis support and found out it has nothing to do with the camera for motion record. If the camera connects it should rec motion. I also have a brand new wbox 4mp camera having the same problems. The one amcrest 8mp camera i have does record. Am i going to have to change to all amcrest cameras? Lame!

Well sadly that isn't really a Amcrest issue.. I have a few recorders and I have to admit that I have some Cameras that I have to have on Full time record because the Cameras are not same as Manufacture and when I go to setup Motion it tells me the Camera isn't able to setup Motion.. While they are 5mp Cameras they are Early release cameras and I am just happy they support ONVIF so I can even use them... That is on all my Recorders that are IP able.. even my Hikvision and my Dahua Recorders can't setup the Motion on the units so I just use them Full time record
