Having trouble getting rid of multicam in tour AMDV5M8

Post by dsobieralski »

I am trying to set up a tour where it cycles through my cameras (loops) full screen. I do NOT want the 4 cam shot, the 8 cam shots, or anything else other than it looping endlessly through all of the cameras full screen. I have tried for hours to make this happens and I can only get it to cycle once and then it goes to the split 4 and the split 8 and another split 8 with some info on the last pane. I tried deleting all of the cameras and adding the ones individually, but it still cycles through my unwanted screens. I have picked "Single Camera View" when setting up and after it cycles through my cameras, it goes to the 4 split and the 2 8 split screens. Return of this unit expires tomorrow, so if I don't figure it out today, it is going back, because my 10 year old one I was upgrading performs this option, but I wanted the higher resolution and updated features of this unit. Can anyone walk me through it, and please do a step-by-step. Thanks and I hope this reaches you in time.

You will need to go to tour area and remove all tour events you don't want displayed. Meaning if you only want 4 split then you would remove all single channel, 8 ch and so on. Thus leaving only tour type you want.

I deleted all of the tour settings and then added just the cameras in single camera view in the tour settings and it still stayed the same. Perhaps, I should explain a little bit further. When you first turn on the unit and it starts showing the views, that is what I want to be full screen view and not four or eight. Cameras in full screen and let it cycle continuously. I deleted everything from the tour settings and added each camera individually, rebooted it, and it seems to do the same thing. I have logged into the web menu and try to do it as well. Note, I am not looking forward to be in the live or recorded area but in whatever that startup screen is that just cycles. I have since sent the unit back this morning because after 8 hours of trying to get it to do what a 15-year-old unit currently does, I figured I would get my money back because it was the last day that I could return it. If someone can show me definitive proof that this is in fact possible, I would gladly purchase it again and go through a walk through

Ok so if you want the DVR to cycle each channel even after a reboot I would have to look into that.. I know I do everything I can not to scan all my channels because I don't like the idea of something happening in between the time it takes to go from 1 camera to the next and back to the camera that might have an event..

So anyway I revisited the tour and I am not sure how you are doing it. I just setup mine to tour all my channels on my 16ch NVR. While i have not changed my NVR back from locking out 9-16 when it wasn't logged in and sure enough after a did a reboot after setting up my NVR to tour the NVR started to tour again after reboot and when it made it to channel 9-16 they just toured with a black screen and lock but recorder did in fact tour after a reboot.. Did you do a manual tour or did you enable the tour in the tour menu?

So I am clear, When my system rebooted it loaded with 9ch grid view to start with, then after a couple of seconds started the tour.. I was thinking at first maybe it needed to be logged in to tour but no started with it even after a reboot..

Now in my pictures below you can see that tour was enabled for main screen. I also have Sub screne tour that I can setup that I didn't remove any of the info and can do 2 different tours on my device if I wanted... If your machine has both main and sub make sure you setup for the right tour group.

I will repurchase the unit and give this a try. I really want the upgrade, but I was pulling my hair out trying to omit the 4 and 8/BIG camera views and only want the unit to cycle endlessly 1 camera at a time full screen.
