So I have been for the life of me trying to find out why some things were built and or let stay when there is no seemly good function. Most times with other things when I have had my DVR setup for On motion PTZ camera 3 to preset X and or have a PIR setup on my system to make a PTZ camera go to Preset X the camera was made with a Home after so long no motion is in play say 1 min then it returns home or to a Preset setup by the owner..
Well I today found a good way to make things work the way I want them to with my NVR and 3 841's and really it could be 1 841 and any 2 other cameras as I have it set in my CVI DVR now as well...
For this topic Ch1, Ch2 and Ch3 are on a view that I can see the whole area from down my street to the top of my street and out of view... I have setup some things that I feel is kind of cool to me anyway lol... I have a Pressure plate with a Switch that sends to my Ch2 alarm input and PTZ to preset 4. Problem is this now is off my normal view. So when Ch3 gets motion it is now set to tell Ch2 Preset 1 at the same token if Ch1 gets motion it tells Ch2 Preset 1. I am in testing phase right now and seeing that I have removed my switch plate for now. I did get it to Work however over the night I found 2 issues snow and wind makes it false trigger so I have removed it for the time while I work on some system with springs. I am not sure yet how to make it work 100% to my liking.. Once plate is triggered say because I got a Item delivered. My camera goes to Preset 4 just fine However the switch stays in Closed. Not an issue but once Ch1 or ch3 make ch2 go to Preset 1 it don't take the Alarm input again that I found so it will just stay on preset 1. But it works and that is good because even if in the event my son or wife move the camera for looking at the porch they don't have to move it back to preset 1 as soon as one of the other 2 cameras get motion it is back where it's home is...
So now I have thought of a better way to do this that won't give false alarm imput I am going to make a Delivery Box. This is easier then the Switch plate lol... Delivery man opens box, Trigger tells camera to go to Preset 4. Gets the man adding the item to the box.. Then one of the 2 cameras will return it back to what I am going to call home. When I go take package out of box or my son or wife do the camera again will go to porch and record the removal of package. When next motion on ch3 or 1 it will put ch2 back to home.. This will work better then my plate seeing the snow triggers it... No more false alarms.. I am going to make it look like a seat with box so the delivery man can open hide package rather then leave them on the porch... I would Rather prevent an issue then create one...
