I bought the above package a few years ago (comes with DVR, Cameras and cables and a hard drive), however I have not used it in about 2 years now as it boots up just fine but then every so often it beeps and reboots itself. Through my searching on the Internet and with email discussions with Amcrest I am told the problem is likely one of two things, a bad hard drive or a bad power supply. Amcrest tells me that do not have the power supply stocked to be able to buy. They also tell me they no longer carry the DVR that goes with my system. I then asked it there are any other DVR's available that would work with my cameras and I was again told no. They want me to buy a brand new more expensive system.
One of the major problems is that I had back surgery in late November and all of my cameras are installed through my attic. There is no way I will be able to do that again.
Does anybody here no where I could purchase a matching DVR OR a new or rebuilt DVR that will work with my current cameras? Does anybody know where I can get something like this fixed?
At this point I feel like I am stuck between a rock and a hard place.
Thanks Much in Advance for Your Help and Suggestions.

DVR for AMDV10808M-8B-B
Re: DVR for AMDV10808M-8B-B
Hello and Sorry to hear about the troubles.. Personally I am not sure why Amcrest would tell you that they don't sell a DVR that could/would work with your current cameras in stock. (That one not being in stock is one thing) However Amcrest sells plenty of DVR's that will work with 4 in 1 DVR 1080P system from years past.. The cheapest I see they have online and showing in stock is 90usd, that is the AMDVTENL8-H5, Then it says they have that one in 2tb for 180 uds...
Personally if you had the money I would buy the 7108-AI DVR and while it is 270ish it has things that make it worth the price and that don't have a HDD for the price but again worth every dime.. I do own it and have since March of 2021. Not sure if your only using the 1080P cameras that came with your DVR or if you had some other older ones it works with all my older cameras and one of the best things is it offers SMD for motion and it will record only Vehicles or Humans if you so wanted.. It also has Face Detection however only can use 1 or the other.. I don't work for Amcrest so it don't matter what one you choose. any of the ones I listed here will work for your cameras.
Now in Truth. Again sorry about the troubles.. The best thing to do in truth for me anyway would be buy a new Power supply from Ebay. Making sure it is of good quality and in the size for your device. Normally 12v 2amp unless it is one that requires 3.5amp, or 4amp and not sure of many of the Amcrest devices that do I have some other branded ones that do.. That would be the cheapest and I would test with new POWER Supply..
Next for price, Would be working with the HDD. Replacement from Ebay that is new in 2 tb is about 70 to 90. or 40ish for MDD however I have no clue quality of that 70 to 90 would be better Security type 2tb HDD WD 90s...
So in the mean time, Here is some ideas, Make sure the HDD is formatted and keep an eye to when it gets full, Don't setup the system to delete after so many days as it don't really delete just makes it so you can't access them.. I would also make sure to have it Reboot at least once a week and every day would be better at a set time that your around so you know it came back online without issue. (meaning if your in bed at 2am not a good time to have it reboot everyday)

Re: DVR for AMDV10808M-8B-B
Sorry when I say "Make sure the HDD is formatted" what I mean is don't let the HDD work to the point long past being full.. Also seems to Error on any of my machines after some time no matter the age or if it is a WD or Seagate HDD as I do use both brands in my machines.. If the HDD runs a while over writing the old footage and HDD errors the system Restarts trying to make the system work again. It can work a day or 2 and sometimes it won't make it a few hours.. After a Reboot happens that wasn't power related or scheduled if I format the HDD it works smooth until it is again full and starts to Error...
Be Safe.
