Hey people,
I'm adding a 6th camera to my system (see sig) and I'm wondering if I can hot plug it or do I need to shut the DVR down then plug it in and turn the DVR back on?
Can I hot plug POE cameras?

You don't need to turn off the NVR to plug in a POE Camera or un-plug one
Be Safe.
Re: Can I hot plug POE cameras?
Thank you.
Physical installation is nearly done. Then I just have to aim it and probably re-aim a few others. That's where the app comes really handy

Re: Can I hot plug POE cameras?
Very true the App is great for making sure that your camera is connected and pointing right. Not all cameras come with an Analog port output for installing cameras today and for most home owners no need to buy spendy cable testers with built in monitor that was useful for installing cameras years ago.. I still have some cameras that have a built in port for testing the camera using a Spot Monitor CCTV tester.. I mean there is many reasons that can be a pain. Having the tool to do a bunch of test always makes me just to run the tests seeing I am there. With the App no test just bring up feed, point the camera where you want it and secure the position and get back to level ground lol..
Be Safe.
