Anyone still have this DVR or maybe the 8 even? Wow and if someone had the 16 Geez let me know because if it is as mine is I am on the HUNT. I don't know how the 8 or even 16 would be able to double I wouldn't think the poor thing would be able to stand up....
So here is what I am tripping about... So bought this some years ago and installed for my son. 4 cameras. No big deal right... Well after some time 3 of the 4 cameras went funky and he wasn't happy with it anymore. So I bought him a Newer CVI unit. Geez after having the last update or at least the one in it now The DVR is crazy.... Didn't think much of it because I couldn't get anything to work over the IP side. Shown them there but I guess I had to much to figure out what the problem was...
So While i did have this running as a Back up on my Shed Cams. I took it out and came in the house with it.. Set it next to my desk for the last couple of weeks. Today. I said lets look again. Tried to log on But forgot password. I click the forgot password area was like GRR not doing that... as much as I remember this one still has a Reset factory switch in side YAY did it and had to do all the setup again Oh well... Once done I revisit the IP camera seeing it is first thing to pop up and there is 2 of my NEW cameras that wasn't in network when I put it back in the Shed... I think ok no good info on how to set this up for IP cameras Give me a break my 2 are 1080p and this is a 960h for goodness sakes... (Already told my CVI shouldn't work with them how can I expect this too?)
WOW guess what... Not only does it work... This DVR unlike my Amcrest CVI dvr don't take 2 channels to give 2 ip.. NO it gave me 4 Ip channels lol.... SO then I look at the Config and see this DVR is Crazy... I can turn it form 4IP and 4analog to (4 analog and 4IP) wait that is the same! OMG NO what that does is let me put the IP cameras in Space 1-4 and analog 5-8 under the Alt... Normal is Ch1-ch4 is Analog why because that was its intended use. Remember 4 BNC connections on the back.... However changing it 4Ip moved the cameras to be placed in first... Awesome... But wait there is MORE..... I no longer have a DVR.... I now have a 8 Channel NVR... There was an Option to have 8IP Cameras OMG reallly...... SO I click that Config and a BOX POPS up and makes me wonder do I really want to try this lol... Says if I click ok the system will reset to Factory settings... At first I said NO lol... Went back and saved the Config of the system to a Memory Stick.. Go back and pick it and OK System Reset and all devices are now gone offline....
Go back into the IP setup as it is first there anyway when it comes online.... Has my TVI DVR as Ch1 but I know it wont import so I change that to none for channel.... I then change my Old FW 841 that is 1080p on Ch1, Set my New FW 841 also set at 1080p on ch2... Others listed in the list don't load no matter how hard I tired However I now have 2 IP cameras in my DVR that is now a NVR.... Strange thing is I have another 1080P Ip camera that it is listing as IPC, Only other 1080 IP camera online is one that for all I know don't even have Onvif... But how did it notice it???? So I try and get it to load, give the right password.. Strange before it said wrong password... After I put in the right one lol. It just says it is offline lol... OH well But Geez if it would pull that camera in That would be crazy lol. Right now have a 16gb card in it and pay for Motion Cloud as back up because there is no other options like FTP and NAS like the Amcrest offers....
Anyway have another 841 on its way... 3 running on that already has me on overload with the thought of 2 working.... Difference is on the screen it pops up a little Icon that says 1080p lol SO it knows.... Strange thing is My 1.3mp camera don't even list.... I manually added it to the list but it won't pull in the stream.. I have it set to run at 720p however I did switch it over to the 1.3mp in the camera setup to see if that would help didn't lol...
This is the model and info of the DVR in use
