Account User Group

Post by Watkindom »

I have a NV4108E NVR and Users belonging to the Admin Group can see the Live Cameras, but a User belonging to the User Group can not. That user can go to the Live page and select the cameras, but the video feed just has a spinning circle. If I add that user to the Admin Group I can remove all Authority except Account, Manual Control, Network Management, Storage, and Camera and the user can see the live cameras. Anything less than those settings result in no live cameras. Has anyone seen this? Did I miss something somewhere?

Forgot to mention I using Chrome and the latest firmware V4.0 2020-5-21. I just tried the User Group account in IE and it works fine. So looks like buggy firmware!

Welcome to the Forum..

After doing FW update did you happen to do a Factory Reset... Here is what people don't get and one of the reasons they don't want people going back outside of JS FW to something back in 2018 or before.. Problem is when you go up in the same type of FW you can do a Reset and it flushes out old info.. However going back after a Reset sadly some of that Old INFO you trying to flush out didn't add any of the OLD 2018 or newer info other then the CORE update and if that update didn't have lets say a Play back it could Remove the Playback for good even if you went back to 2018 FW and then tried to go back to 2019 or 2020 FW it could damge beyond repair.. Personally I would do a Factory Reset..

Then to make some matters Worse.. Some people have tried to use CORE FW from Dahua or another Dahua OEM to update their camera and while for some it might work. Or might look like it worked however it didn't and Bricks your camera or NVR...

This is a new setup, new cameras and new NVR. The original FW was upgraded to the latest so not much in the way of OLD INFO. But I did a Factory Reset anyway. The User still can only view live cameras with added authority in Chrome, but no using IE. After the reset there is no PIN pattern option to log in to the NVR. Most everything else seems normal.

Sadly not much sure about NEW.. I am going to guess the 4108E-HS is at least 2 or more years old.. Anyway to be Honest I would personally stay away from FW updates for the NVR as of 2019 and early 2020 FW if it was something in the Aug 2020 or later that is a different story seeing I don't know if there is issues with them yet.. The early 2020 FW has some bugs and while I am not sure that it can I am guessing they have setup the 4108-HS line with the ability to go back to older FW

My 2116-hs has FW ability to upgrade sadly at this time I am not going to..

I no longer use Email for my Notices and I don't mind using IE for my WebUI if I have to so there is really no need to update FW for me at this point.. If it was IE no longer worked and I couldn't push to my Cell Phone for my Alerts or I knew all the Bugs were worked out I would then update FW for now it can stay on the 2018 one it is on..

I guess if there is problems I would talk with Amcrest and see if they will still Flash Old FW for you.. Sadly it means you will be without a Recorder for the Time it takes for them to get your machine and time it takes for your machine to hit the Bench for work... I heard a few months ago they were working on the ability for the Normal users to be able to Downgrade again however nothing I know was released that I know of..

However looking at your Model line your system is showing the 2018 FW in the Downgraded list of FW

Thanks for the response Revo2Maxx. Buggy firmware is what I suspected. This set up works for me the way it is, but I like things to work properly when they can.
By new the cameras and NVR are new to me fresh out of the box. I reset the firmware again and got the PIN back.
I'll be sure to wait for any new firmware updates to be vetted before upgrading again.
