wifi camera lag

[Lloyd]

Camera versions I have: IP2M-841W, IPM-HX1B, and IP2M‑842EB

All of my wifi cameras are slow and choppy (on the DVR mainly). I noticed a difference between the delay when connecting to the camera from my phone vs the DVR. Regardless of how close the wifi cams are to router, on the DVR the delay seems much greater than the realtime connection. I went ahead and bought a new Nighthawk AC1900 router, which is stellar...but didn't make a difference. So something related to the recording process or DVR is causing the lag I assume. I need to resolve it, because just a second or two of lag can miss entire events.

What setting changes, either on the camera or the DVR, can I change to get rid of this lag? I don't care much about resolution, if that is a factor.

any advice to speed up camera recording would be appreciated.
