My grandmother recently passed away and while the family decides what to do with her house I have installed several Amcrest security cameras throughout the house (3MP/2304TVL via p2p) with SD cards as I live 8 hours away and still want to keep an eye on things. Recently one of the cameras has stopped recording. I first thought I would use Amcrest Surveillance Pro on my PC to log into the camera and reformat the SD card and see if that would help. However it appears the software has NO support for camera maintenance. I set up port forwarding on the router the cameras are connected too so I was going to log in with a browser for maintenance. However the dynamic IP at the my grandmother's house has changed. So I checked back with Surveillance Pro and even though it's connecting with the cameras it will not provide remote IP. So even if you need to log in with a web browser that information is hidden from you in the Surveillance Pro software.
As far as I live it would be nice if remote maintenance was supported so I didn't have to drive there all the time. But even allowing a logged in user to see the remote IP would be helpful?
Why does Amcrest software not display remote IP?

@whiteshepherd Hello and Welcome to the Forum
Sorry for your loss.. Your going to want to setup DDNS for your system if you want to access from outside the network over the Internet.. That will every so often check the current Ip for your internet and when you go to log in it will have that updated info so you don't have to worry about not being able to access...
I know of 3 amcrest I think has one, then there is NO IP and Dyndns...
You can find that info in the camera or DVR/NVR Network area..

whiteshepard,
Try calling your remote ISP to find out what the current WAN address is. Then you could test it with the http external port in camera Web UI.
Using a ddns domain name in the Web UI doesn't work whenever I've tried it. If you use a ddns service that you can sign in to, it might display the current WAN address to use whenever you need it.
