In the view app, I have to enter the default login credentials: username = admin, password = admin (these are in the manual available publicly so I'm not divulging anything secret here). The username is fixed at "admin" so why even bother showing the username if I am not allowed to change it? If the username is "admin" for everyone then the only login credential shown to connect to the camera should be the password. Seems superfluous to have a username field that is fixed (and known to everyone so the only login security is the password).
This is very much like routers and cable modems (that have routers). Their username is also fixed at "admin". Only the password can be changed (and should always be changed to a strong string). I just don't see the point of showing username fields that are bogus.

Hello VanguardLH ,
You can add multiple users with different usernames and hence that option.

Re: Why bother with username field in the login?
I'll have to try again. As I recall, when I changed the username and then tried to use it later, I got an error of something like "no such user" (don't recall the exact error message). So I figured the username always had to be "admin". I'd prefer to NOT have an admin named account or any account credentials (username and password) that are the defaults.
Once the admin account gets created, can it be deleted?
Is admin a required account, like it has the most privileges while other usernames (accounts) have less privileges?

Hello VanguardLH,
It appears that for the original 'admin' account, you cannot change the username. You can add other accounts with admin privileges or guest with less privileges.
