Viewing in app when away from home

Post by pdxrealtor »

I have my system setup so that I can access it via a web browser at http://xxxxxxx.amcrestddns.com:xxxx/ when away from home. However, due to needing a plugin, this does not work on my mobile phone.

How can I use the app to access the system cameras when away from home using my current configuration?

If your cameras are IP, I highly recommend take some time and configure them using an APP on your mobile.

I recommend LiveCAM Pro for iOS or tinyCam Pro for Android - both paid (US$ 9.99). I don't connect the APP to the NVR - instead I connect directly to the IP cameras.

They are not IP. They are co-ax and the DVR is Cat 6..

I'm not a tech expert, but I believe you need to set up the HTTP and RTSP ports on the DVR (or on the cameras, not sure) and then open the ports via port forwarding on your router. That way, you can use TinyCam which I use.
