Has anyone tried using a problem named Video Velocity to access an Amcrest Camera?
If you have tried it and got it to work I have some questions:
1. What port number did you use in the URL?
2. Did you select a camera manufacture from the list provided? Amcrest is not an option.
3. Any other setup help would be appreciated.
Video Velocity is a program that can create time lapse videos.
Thanks for your help.

'What Amcrest URL are you trying to use?
Are you using the program free version or the Studio version?

Re: Video Velocity and an Amcrest Camera
I'm using the free version of the program.
I'm working getting the video feed now using and RTSP URL. I have it working using VLC and the next step will be to get it to work using Video Velocity.
I post the results later today.

Re: Video Velocity and an Amcrest Camera - It works
I got one of my IP cameras to work with the program.
Here's the URL I used:
rtsp://userid:password@xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=01
Replace userid with the admin userid for the camera, replace password with the camera's password.
Replace xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with the IP address of the camera.
The channel number is 1 and subtype=01 is for the main stream.

Re: Video Velocity and an Amcrest Camera
Good to see you got it working with RTSP. Normally, Subtype=0 is mainstream and Subtype=1 is substream.
If you have problems, another Amcrest URL you could try is
http://admin:password@IPaddress/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi
It sends a snapshot jpg at the specified program interval.
Today I downloaded the program and tried snapshot URL with mainstream set to 640x480 and output set to WMV9.
It worked OK.
It would take testing to see whether RTSP or snapshot works better.
The program looks like it is probably very good.

Re: Video Velocity and an Amcrest Camera
You are correct about the subtype, 0 is for the main stream.
