video not running smoothly on Wifi camera's

Help! I have six Amcrest wifi camera's on a home network system. My camera's video will not record or play smoothly. it'll go 5 or 6 seconds, then pause then just forward.I bought a wifi extender and it helped a little. I know it's not the wifi signal as my camera's are less then ten or fifteen feet from the router or extender. Any hints or ideas?

Hello skinny10 ,

When you use wireless extenders, it can reduce the speed of the network traffic. So if you are using them on 1080P resolution, it might be slow because of low bandwidth. Try reducing the resolution under video settings or use sub stream if you are accessing the camera from a computer.

Ok, I reduced the video down from 1080 to 720 and that helped a lot.

Sub stream? Is that in the camera's settings or my video software (Blue Iris) settings?

Also does each camera have to have a different HTTP port setting? I am using port 80 right now on all my camera's.

Hello,

Sub stream can be found on the cameras web interface from a PC. This is in the main page where you get the cameras live video.
Cameras need to have different HTTP port only if you use port forwarding.
