If I turn the night vision on an Amcrest camera to "off" will it still be able to utilize the night vision that is provided by a separate IR spotlight? If not, is there a way to do this?
Asking before purchasing. Thanks.
Using IR spotlights with Amcrest
Re: Using IR spotlights with Amcrest
Hello and welcome to the forum
So some cameras have IR Manual, off and Smart some might just be on and off.. Then there are some cameras that are on and you have no control on the matter..
So on one you don't control you can still use an extra IR blaster on the one you can control if you don't want to have the bugs because you live in an area like I do where there are more then one needs then you can use a Blaster, Add it above your camera and in your cameras FOV you should be fine.. Just make sure not to make the mistake of changing to color at night as Color don't get the benefit from IR Some are only able to turn off IR by changing to color at night... However if you have the Amcrest IP cameras with Smart IR then you can turn off IR in side of your Setup...
For some cameras without the ability to turn off IR you can on some cameras unplug the IR and camera will still work in B/W and use another IR blaster yet some cameras that have a IRC sadly this don't work because the IR is what tells the filter to flip over.. So it depends on your camera and type of setup... I do have some cameras that have the IRC in the camera not controlled by the IR system so it can be a test n trial at times...
