for some reason, my amcrest camera always change from h264 to h265. this is the model https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C7W91YR/
i use the Amcrest Surveillance Pro on win10 to manually change it from h265 back to h264 at least once a week.
the same thing happens with my amcrest AD410 door bell. luckily i was able to automate it using this web command: curl -g --digest -u admin:pass123 "http://192.168.1.112/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=setConfig&Encode[0].MainFormat[0].Video.Compression=H.264"
BUT this does not work for the amcrest bullet mentioned earlier. i know the command exists but no idea what the syntax is. anyone know what the command is for the bullet?
URL command to change encoding to H264?
Re: URL command to change encoding to H264?
should be the same command for both, unless it needs a slight variation, like H.264H
You can review the current video settings for all streams, not just the main - via: .../cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=getConfig&Encode
Do you have your cameras/doorbell connected to an Amcrest/Dahua NVR? If so, there is a setting in the Camera List menu called H.265 Auto Switch. It can be turned off.
