My router is purposefully not set up with port forwarding or in a DMZ, yet somehow I was able to access my camera via Amcrest View mobile app remotely. I disconnected from my wifi, was on cellular LTE, pulled up the app and the live view pop right up with PTZ working and all. I'm also not using AmCrest cloud.
How did that happen? I assume it was related to the P2P feature, but how exactly does that work? There shouldn't have been any network connectivity at all so I'm a little confused. Is there a technical specification of how P2P works that I can read somewhere?
