Trouble with wireless signal
Trouble with wireless signal
I have five Amcrest wireless cameras all connecting through my wireless router and to my computer (no NVR). I have a fast internet connection (150 Mbps+), but when I connect all of my cameras, my wireless signal to other devices goes to zero or close to zero. How do I make it so that my cameras are not taking up all my bandwidth? Would it help to buy an NVR? Would the signals go to the NVR rather than my router, or is that now how it would work? I know that I should be able to make this work, but I don't know how to go about it. If you need more information, let me know and I'll provide what you tell me you need.
Re: Trouble with wireless signal
Hello bfiles ,
You can try the below settings.
1) Lower the resolution on the cameras to save bandwidth
2) Change the wireless channel on the router to channel 11 or another channel with less interference.
3) Wireless mode in the router should support wireless N/2.4 Ghz

Re: Trouble with wireless signal
Thanks, but...
1) I understand that if I lower the resolution then I would use less bandwidth, but then why did I buy a camera that had high resolution? I want to be able to see the images well, or it's not worth having the cameras.
2) I've already changed the channel on the router twice. That didn't seem to help.
3) Yes, the wireless mode in the router supports N/2.4 GHz.
