Tech support acces to camera

Is there a reason why tech support isn't willing to access my camera directly and insists upon accessing via my computer? I have an SD card issue and she said it's impossible to just access the camera with a browser, which is odd since I do it every day. The camera is across town, so there is no advantage of accessing via my browser.
