System reset itself?

Post by norcalvv »

I purchased my Amcrest surveillance system (720P Tribrid HDCVI 4CH) in April and it has been running smoothly and without any problems on all devices/software, including the Android app and Amcrest Surveillance Pro.

However yesterday when attempted to view my cameras with the Android app, I received the account locked error; and viewing with Surveillance Pro was also not available.

I was successful after a few log in attempts thru the Web app but I had to use the default password and realized that the entire system had defaulted to a factory reset.

Before yesterday, I did not make any changes to the system (other than those in April) and, if it matters, there have not been any power failure(s) or brownout(s).

I would appreciate if anyone has an idea as to how/why the system would reset itself.

Thanks

Hello norcalvv ,

Even if there is a power failure the system should not restore to factory defaults. The only way that can happen is if you accidentally went to the restore factory defaults option under system settings. If you did not do that, it might be a failure with the OS of the DVR.
