So Many Connection Issues, Where to Begin?
So Many Connection Issues, Where to Begin?
I'm a big fan of the camera when it works, but the programs keep losing connection to the camera. I've tried web, add-ons, and the Surveillance Pro. The Surveillance Pro is great, but setting up everything with the program is absolutely atrocious. I'll be using the program just fine via Wi-Fi after connecting the camera to my PC's ethernet during setup, and all is fine and dandy when I add the IP address into the Manually Add Device section, with the IP, and then I change the port to 80, and log into my account. I'll get the feed. Everything seems okay. But if I ever change the Encode settings to actually get some quality out of the 1080p video stream, it will just stop working. Then I cannot ever access it again unless I delete everything and set it up over again with the ethernet setup. This is not efficient since I have the camera in a bedroom next door watching my daughter during the night and during her time-outs. I can't just go in and take the camera out without waking her. So I keep missing nights of surveillance and don't know how to fix this issue. I just cannot understand how to fully set this up properly. I just want to keep my 1080p/30fps 4200kbps stream via Wi-Fi and not lose it. It just keeps ending up saying that there's not enough resources or something in the various WebUI's, and that in the program it says it failed the search or something. How can I easily set this up? I'm about to return it. I have an IP2M-841.
Re: So Many Connection Issues, Where to Begin?
Sounds like a setup issue. These cameras store 2 IP addresses: one for wired and one for wireless, which is kind of confusing. Make sure you enter the IP of your gateway (router) as well in the camera settings. What port are you changing to 80? Honestly, 80 is not a great choice. Your router may be listening on port 80. You need to set ports for HTTP and RTSP. Use something like 1510 and 3510. You then have to forward these ports in your router to the IP of the camera.
Once you get the camera set up correctly, it will be pretty reliable.
