Snapshot URL for JPG on http (ASH26-W)

Post by cao2000 »

I am trying to find the correct url format for the http snapshot jpg stream on my ASH26-W (Floodlight Camera combo).

I have tried a few, but nothing works quite right. For instance, something like:

http://<IP>/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi
OR
http://<username>:<password>@<IP Address>/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi?loginuse=<username>&loginpas=<password>

The second one worked once, but after a reboot of the camera, it quit working. Subsequent reboots also did nothing.

I am trying to use this in a home automation program that can only use http (not rtsp) in a custom control page, so the credentials need to be embedded. Alternately, I am OK if credentials can be turned off.

I am able to access all the advanced settings through the Amcrest Surveillance Pro app.

Thanks,

Chris

I don't have this particular SmartHome camera but I can tell you that with the SmartHome AD110 doorbell, the early firmware versions did not support snapshot.cgi. It was subsequently fixed.

The use of http://<username>:<password>@<IP Address>/cgi-bin/snapshot.cgi should work with your home automation and any Amcrest camera.

If you attempted to change some settings via ASP and not the SmartHome app, that could have confused it and may require a factory reset.

Does your home automation software support ffmpeg commands? If so, you can use it to create snapshots, even though it uses rtsp.
