Snapshot not capturing event that triggered it

Post by jabber »

I have an NVR4108 with IP2M-842E cameras. I receive motion snapshots by email but the snapshot is taken 4-10 seconds after the motion has occurred so unless the subject stays in view of the camera I can't tell what triggered the motion unless I playback the video. I spoke with support about this a couple weeks ago and they did extensive testing on my system, nothing was resolved. I have spent hours trying and testing every setting without success. Support suggested that the NVR might be defective so they sent me a replacement, the replacement has the same exact issue. Has anyone been able to get snapshots to work correctly with the NVR4108 and IP2M-842E cameras?

Bueller? Anyone? If someone walks in front of my camera I get a snapshot email but it doesn't show the person, when I playback the motion video I see that the time stamp on the snapshot is at least 4 seconds after the recording started. Unless the person remains in front of the camera the snapshot misses them. Has anyone been able to get snapshots to work correctly with the 4108?

I just bought a ProHD IP2M-841B camera.
Motion detection is not working worth beans on it either.
If I set the set the sensitivity, threshold, and region so that it will detect motion consistently, then it is way too sensitive and emails me a multitude of motion detected emails, each containing one single snapshot... that was, you guessed it, taken a few seconds after the moving object already left the scene. If I turn down the config settings to make it not so sensitive, then it takes an object as big as a car moving in front of it to set it off.

I give up getting useful motion detection out of this camera, and just ordered another new Foscam camera instead. I'll use this camera somewhere else where I don't need the motion detect... this is a shame because the video quality coming out of this camera is very nice, clearer and brighter than the Foscam, but the Foscam does excellent motion detection.

I have yet to hear from Amcrest on whether snapshots should work without the 4-10 second delay? I contacted support a couple times and have not gotten a response. Is it a setting on my end or just the way it is. Melvin can you answer this?

Did you ever get a reply or a fix for the snapshot problem? I am having the same issue with a NV4081E I bought last week.

All this time, and nothing from Amcrest? 10 seconds is way too long to wait before taking a picture.
