Is there a way to do a simple playback of video from an IP8M-T2499E with the later Oct 2019 firmware?
...without having to first download a big block of video?
The playback screen has a PLAY button that does nothing, making me think Ive overlooked something obvious...
Simple playback
Re: Simple playback
The only thing I could think of with the Way 2019 an 2020 FW is going it looks like the best bet would be to Setup for Motion and then when you go to your Camera list of days when you click on file search and you find the file you want within the Motion listed files then only have to DL that file rather then trying to Cut some recorded data to take the footage you want.. Only draw back on this setup as I just tested out on one of my Cameras is I have found a listing I wanted to view, Had some footage I wanted to keep however it falls short to when the true event ended because it happens outside of the Grid of Chosen area.. So while I get most of it there is 30 seconds outside the Motion event that I wish could have been saved with it.. Now this camera I am working on has a Very Narrow Motion Grid. I did setup for 2 min Recording of Events on Motion and does well to get most things I want I mention this because you might want to setup a larger Grid and or Longer Record time if you have Audio or if things can happen outside your motions FOV...
OK now I have not been on my Camera WEB UI for long time and LOL I went back to look at my listing for today and the little Alarm thing is no longer just a Static icon it has animation rather then just static red lol Sorry first time seeing that... Looking over it now seems I need to make some adjustments since last time I played inside the WebUI it is raining.. Anyway looking over the last 4 days most of my footage is from 2 to 4 min in each motion record..
Another thing you could do rather then Setup your system to record long time set up for shorter times.. Most are normally setup for 8 min, I change them to 10 myself but maybe making them smaller could be what you need as mine anyway list being able to change from 1 to 120min.. Have my NVR and DVR's setup to Record 60 but I do have 1 that I did change to 120 (Max allowed) to see what I would get in performance to be honest can't say I see much difference..

Re: Simple playback
So because I do have it setup for PURE Motion in my Camera seeing I have it full time Recording to my NVR I did just change it in my Camera for some testing and thought I would mention that it does good at recording what you want it setup to record so I moved my Full time down to 3 min from 10 and like I said it was setup normally as 8 min.. When you click on the Day you want to look at and then hit the list button it will show that set of time..
Only thing I don't like about it is when Motion happens it cuts the Full time Record and only Records the Motion event.. So maybe if that works for your needs to just cut the Record times down might be the way to go for you.. However for me I like to have Motion events so I know when something might have happen rather then having to look over a whole day of footage for something that might have happen..
Like the other day I came outside to find a Steel Sign on my back porch, I didn't buy it or steal it where did it come form lucky for me I was able to playback Motion events for my back porch and found that my Neighbor Dropped it off.. So I returned the favor and left 3 that I had extras of for him while he was away lol...

Re: Simple playback
You need to click the "file list" button after selecting the date, double click the file you want which will load the video.

That actually worked, thank you!danwithacam wrote: ↑Fri Oct 30, 2020 4:59 am You need to click the "file list" button after selecting the date, double click the file you want which will load the video.
There was no indication that was possible (like a mouse-over reaction, or decent documentation), just the download arrow to download the big file.
