Silica Bag in Dome Camera

Quick question: I've read that the silica bag needs to be replaced any time a dome camera is opened. Is that fact?

Melvin: Any thoughts?

If it's like most silica bags you can put it in the oven at ~150F for a few hours to drive all the moisture out of it. Silica is not "consumed" when it absorbs moisture.
