Not sure if this is the right place, but I'm trying to set up some new ip, poe cameras. I have created a vlan for them and profile, I then dedicated the ports to the correct profile, and nothing happens. I thought once each camera port is set to the right profile that they would then grab an ip address from that profile, but they are still sitting on their default ip when they came on.
I tried to force on to ip range and it says it can't find the network. I know I'm doing something wrong. I just don't know what it is.
Any help is appreciated.
Setting up vlan for new cameras
Re: Setting up vlan for new cameras
Sorry I am not sure how you have your VLAN setup. I would make sure that if your Switch has DHCP and you want your ports handed out without first setting up Static IP for each port then I would make sure that it is enabled. Then if it isn't setup that way. Some IP cameras have ability to be Highjacked by Amcrest NVR for IP assignment however anything outside of Amcrest or (Dahua) a Static IP will remain on the camera unless you setup a different Static IP using the Cameras WebUI. (IN Other words if your Camera isn't setup for use with DHCP that IP that is static will remain)
So to break it down even more. Lets say you used the Camera and gave it IP 10.23.1.223 and wanted to move it to your Vlan that is on 10.43.12.xx your VLAN will not be able to change your Cameras Static IP to that Range you would have to do it. However taking that same camera and installing it on a POE port of a Amcrest or (Dahua) NVR that camera will get Forced to 10.1.1.xx range if the Switch of the NVR is still setup at factory settings..
