Hello All!
I have a few cameras in different locations and looking to setup a mix of continuous recording and motion based scheduled recording:
I'd like to have it continuously record from say 9:00am-1:00am and motion trigger events outside that time.
I'd also like to have it Push notify, as well as send me an email of the event when one is triggered.
I'm at a loss as to whether when a schedule is put into the scheduler, does this mean that the camera is no longer recording outside this scheduled window? How do I ensure I have CVR for the duration except for the motion triggered window (when we're closed)?
Thank in advance for taking the time to help!
Setting for CVR and Motion Schedule? IP4M-1052
Re: Setting for CVR and Motion Schedule? IP4M-1052
Hello and welcome to the Forum...
So you will want to enable a few things to get things going. One you will want to go to the Setup, Storage and enable all things areas you want to record in the Record tab. There you will pick the Main stream and extra stream if you looking to watch from outside of the network or for when there is loads of network traffic Not everyone records Extra stream to save space...
Then in the Schedule area click that. . Then Click Regular and press all for all the days, Then you will want to drag mouse from left to right on the hours you want it to record 24/7 say 8am to 2pm if you are doing this for a business that opens say at 9am and closes at 1pm I always pick 1 hour early and 1 hour later then hours open. Then uncheck Regular and not check MD and drag the 14 to 24 and then drag 0 to 8. Then click apply. Then you will want to press the copy button on the bottom left next to default and copy to all the channels you want to record them hours...
Now you want to after doing all the ch and apply after each one picked you will want to go back to main and then press event. Then Detect, then make sure Motion Detect is the screen your in. Then channel you want to setup, click enable, then setup if you want record channel maybe you have camera 4 leading into camera 5 so when motion is on 4 you can click to have camera 4 and 5 record or just 4.. THen you want to setup a region. So maybe you have an area that has loads of windows and don't want to get all the cars driving by so you can pick the area you want the camera to get motion from to start recording. Then clic kon Period and set it for the time you set in the Schedule. Do that for every camera and making sure to press apply after everyone has been set to your needs...
If you have an email setup in your system you can have it Email you on motion alerts, or you can use your cellphone and setup your system to your phone and have it give you push notices.
Then when you go to look later you will have 2 different color lines on playback one will be for full time record and the other will be for when you had an event. you can list them in a listing or you can play the whole day if needed to find something of interest.
Once all setup. I personally would Search the logs. Back them up and then clear them so you are starting fresh. Then next day in I first check the Logs, If there is anything that needs more looking I will look at footage... Backing up anything that seems needed for more time keeping...
