Serious FTP issues after update

Post by beavis71cox »

so i updated the firmware yesterday, and ran into the problem with the test button giving errors as described elsewhere on this site, but it still recorded to FTP fine. Woke up the next morning and there was no video for the camera on either the app or browser, just a black screen and the device was not listed on windows (UPNP) as it usually is. So i pulled the power, waited thirty seconds and it came back on just fine. I checked the recording folder and it wasn't recording and noticed my IP for the FTP had changed on the PC, so i went into the camera setup and changed to the new IP address. I checked the folder and it was recording....great. I had it set at 1 minute intervals, and the first video recorded was about 1 minute thirty seconds, and then it recorded a second video at 4 seconds and stopped recording.....i unplugged the camera again, waited thirty seconds, and plugged it back in. it was recording again, and this was right before 10am. it stopped recording the file at 10am, like it should, created a 10am (10hour) folder, and started recording.....the video was about 45 seconds long, and then it created an 11am (11hour) folder and started recording all the 10am stuff in the 11am folder....i tried re-upgrading and with hard resets, and using all new settings, but it will not record properly, and the video became unstable (stop and starts) in both Live mode and in the recorded videos, and each time after unplugging the power, it doesn't continue with the scheduled recording. i had to disable and enable FTP in the setting for it to continue recording after each power reset.....i never had these problems before the upgrade, and have now downgraded back to the previous upgrade where the FTP seems to be fine now, but the video is still unstable again and Windows only sees it sporadically (UPNP) in the device list......also, with the downgrade, i am no longer able to remove the "Amcrest" logo, because the option is no longer in the camera/overlay settings......any help would be appreciated

Beavis71cox...
I and others have been unsuccessful to get FTP working such that the video alarm event is actually recorded and sent to local NAS via FTP. I always get an MP4 recorded to the NAS but it consistently misses the first 10 seconds....in other words...the triggering event. I've adjusted all settings (e.g., record delay to the minimum) with no luck.

Are you able to successfully capture the triggering event for motion detection when using FTP?
