Post by Mikejs »

I'm unable to locate or install the web plugin required for Safari. Where can I locate it?

Hello Mikejs,

When you click on download plugin it goes to your downloads folder. You can find it from the download icon on the top right of safari.

Yes I know, then I get this file:

webplugin.pkg.html

And it does nothing.

Hello Mikejs ,

Is there any error message? Go to system preferences by clicking on the apple symbol on top left and from 'security and privacy' settings check the option 'open anyway'. If that is not found, allow download from any internet sources and install the plugin. After installing plugin you can revert the settings.

When I click on the downloaded file, it just opens a new page with:

404 Not Found

Also it does this on every Mac I have.

Same problem. Tech support is of no help - they just repeat the same instructions that do not solve the problem. The only solution is to create/develop a new webplugin.pkg that works with Safari.

MODEL NUMBER: AMCREST IP2M-841 PROHD 1080P (1920TVL)

OPERATING SYSTEM: MACOS SIERRA 10.12.5

WEB BROWSERS: SAFARI 10.1.1 AND FIREFOX 53.0.3

ISSUE: CANNOT USE THE AFOREMENTIONED BROWSERS TO VIEW LIVE CAMERA - BROWSER ASKS ME TO DOWNLOAD PLUGIN BUT WHEN I CLICK THE LINK NOTHING HAPPENS - THERE IS NO PLUGIN BEING DOWNLOADED. SPOKE WITH TECH SUPPORT FROM INDIA OVER PHONE AND THROUGH EMAILS AND THEY HAD ME ADD A BOOLEAN STRING IN ABOUT:CONFIG IN FIREFOX TO FORCE FLASH PLUGIN DOWNLOAD BUT THIS DIDN'T WORK. I WAS TOLD THIS IS AN ISSUE THAT IS BEING WORKED ON. USING AMCREST SURVEILLANCE PRO UNTIL A SOLUTION IS FOUND.

ATTACHED ARE SCREEN CAPTURES.

DO YOU HAVE ANYTHING DIFFERENT TO ADD THAT MAY HELP FIX THIS ISSUE?
