Big thanks to captnsmeck and Crf1000 and possibly other posters for figuring out a temporary workaround with Amcrest cameras.captnsmeck wrote:I am still on High Sierra 10.13.6, maybe that's why the app works for me then. I can configure the NVR, the cams, view live feeds as well as view playbacks. See below screenshot of live view.
Shame on Amcrest for not being proactive with this issue - your customers are unable to use your cameras on Mac.
I am on High Sierra 10.13.6 and I am unable to use Surveillance Pro app to view my cameras/NVR like captnsmeck and Crf1000 did, it just never worked for me.
When I open the SP app, it is unable to connect to any of my cams because it loses my cam passwords when I close the app.
When I <Add In> all my cameras with correct passwords to the lower window, they all get "online". OK.

Then I open "Real Play" view, I dont have "Live View" as seen on captnsmeck screen.
Here, on a right hand pane, I am unable to Add a device - clicking the plus sign "new group" brings up a dialog which does nothing and saves nothing.
So I cant add my cams or DVR here and view them.

I suspect I may be running a different version of SP app, whose version I can't confirm since the app doesnt display it where all Mac apps do, but in ViewConfig menu I can see this:
SMART PSS (aha, right...)

This is what I downloaded and installed from here, just like Crf1000 did:
https://support.amcrest.com/hc/en-us/ar ... llance-Pro
However, my screen shots differ from those by captnsmeck for whatever reason
I dont have "Live View" menu/app, I think in my case it is called "Real Play".

Do you guys have any idea what version of Surveillance pro you are running and where I can download it?
I went over all this with Amcrest rep and he was unable to get me connected to my cameras or NVR.
My iphone app started giving me too many false alarms on motion events around September 2018. There seems to be no way to adjust sensitivity in the iOS app.
No NVR access either.
My Amcrest cams and NVR are now useless pieces of metal scattered around my house.
What a joke to the tune of $1000 USD out of my pocket.
Good thing all of it is covered by lifetime non-support.
